Community College Experience with Kaltura
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to have videos stored in the cloud so if an internal failure happened to a server the videos would not be destroyed or unrecoverable. Also, the 24/7, 365 access for our faculty, staff, and students.
What do you dislike about the product?
A community college located in an area where terrain can cause Internet connectivity issues is the biggest downside to storing the videos in the cloud.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cloud collection of videos alleviates the need for our Learning Management System to provide the necessary storage space for uploaded assignments and projects from students.

Diverse and quality product
What do you like best about the product?
Kaltura has great reps that are responsive and helpful.
Kaltura/Media Space gives you a lot of options to control access and the look of your video portal.

We use both Kaltura Media Space and it streaming capabilities, however they feel like two different products and not integrated.

What do you like best about the product?
Kaltura provides a unique place for our community to access and store their video content. Access time is quick and the service has been reliable for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
With any technology product, service outages and performance can be a disruption and hindrance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
During the pandemic, we were experiencing frequent service disruptions. Kaltura has remedied these issues and down time has been less severe.

What do you like best about the product?
I think that Kaltura it is a potent application to start a VIdeo on Demand service. It give you the tools to have a Cloud service to store your videos an serve it to the world and also offers basic tools to implement a transcoding to those videos.
What do you dislike about the product?
In my opinion, it's very hard to start using the application as a programmer. Documentation is sometimes incomplete or non-existent or refers to deprecated objects or courses of action. I think that the documentation should be thoroughly revised and even offer a little help in the form of videos or tutorials.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kaltura provides us with the tools to store videos and transcode them automatically, thus offering customers an easy and simple way to publish their own video on demand platform.
Kaltura is a fantastic video and captioning option
What do you like best about the product?
Kaltura easy integrates in the LMS and all videos and audio include auto captioning that is super accurate and easy to edit. I love the thumbnail feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
I struggle a bit with editing videos, but as long as the edits are more simple I haven't had any issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Auto captioning on all recordings is a major benefit

Kaltura Video Cloud provides a robust and configurable video platform that admins can customize to the organization's branding, standards, and unique needs and use cases. It's easy to use, looks modern and sleek, and just works.
What do you dislike about the product?
The video editing capabilities of Kaltura are limited, and often require workarounds to make even simple edits.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kaltura is providing a platform for our internal video content. We have loads of such content, and require an internal platform to house and share it.

What do you like best about the product?
As downtime is very important when you have an inventory of more than 4,000 videos, we're happy to report we've NEVER experienced downtime in 12+ years.
What do you dislike about the product?
They are more expensive than some competitors.

We needed a content delivery program that could deliver in every format, with no downtime.
