Elastic search for fast find

  • November 27, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best?
Elasticsearch is really convenient for upserting and then searching through large amounts of data. It's a convenient addition to add search to a mysql db.
What do you dislike?
Documentation could be improved a little especially with regards to using kibana over vpc.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Searching over large numbers of doctors or addresses of hospitals.

Elasticsearch

  • November 26, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best?
Amazon provides an easy to use service to spin an elastic search cluster with associated kibana service. To allow developers to work not blocked by process you can create an elasticsearch cluster without security. It will injest any data sent to it.
What do you dislike?
Easlticsearch doesn't scale down to the level we need. As logs analytics platform it is constantly injesting data, but queries into that data occur far less often. The cluster is a far too static system, and we are over paying for a system that it mostly injesting data.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
The advantage of elasticsearch is maintenance. Previously, development teams had their own clusters that the system team had to manage. With elasticsearch most of the low level management tasks are handled for us, and the higher level tasks like cluster upgrades can by handled from the aws console.

What do you like best?
elasticsearch is very good manages service of aws which provide functionality of collect the data and filterization of data with attached UI logstash and kibana. Its a real time service provides real time api's and data in dashborads. Very easy and userful service of amazon. The best part of this service is built in dashboards like Kibana and Logstash which is very easy to use and work.
What do you dislike?
It have all advantages only one problem i face sometime it shows lots of shards and not works. Otherwise it has all good things in it.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Companies are solving big data and filterization problems with this as this is very fast and reliable service of amazon and filter the large amount of data in seconds.

Search at Amazon Scale

  • July 27, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best?
Fast, scalable, pretty affordable, and integrates nicely if you use other AWS products.
What do you dislike?
A bit of a learning curve if you're new to AWS.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
A simple way to do search at scale for over a petabyte worth of data. We're a small company with a lot of data and didn't have the infrastructure prior to elastic search to be able to search within all of our logs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're already on AWS it's a no brainer, we're on the smaller side but it's worth considering pricing from other competitors.
