RED for the Hat

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best?
Easy to use, very good for linux lovers, good support from the RedHat group, great community on stack overflow, there are tons of people trying to achieve the same goal so it's highly likely that you can find a base source code & you don't have to build your application from start
What do you dislike?
trainings can be complex, you need a mentor initially, you have to pave your path into the linux architecture, it can be boring at times because the errors are far too often if there is too much load (in linux virtualization)
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Daily automation problems, hosting websites using linux architecture Microservices, management of users by Identity management, storage of data on linux machines, runnings chatbots on linux servers etc.

RHEL - Best and Reliable Operating System

  • August 27, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best?
RHEL is a very compatible OS with good support through the RHEL site.
It is a very reliable OS and compatible with third-party applications.
It is a very secure OS by default, and it can be hardened further.
What do you dislike?
RHEL license is quite expensive, and all the additional support comes with a cost.
GUI needs to be made more user-friendly.
The upgrade from one version to another version of RHEL is quite complicated and needs to be more accessible and easy.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We need to install a third-party application for a client, which can be installed on Linux only. RHEL is best in security and compatible with the applications. The customer support we got from RHEL was commendable.

What do you like best?
Red Hat enterprise edition supports and improvises many softwares and developments in terms of cloud, automation, storage, network, virtualization and management. Also this provides efficiency, security and no matter what is the load we have on it, it works really fast compared to other operating systems in the industry. Also it mainly focuses on server operating systems which plays a crucial role at the enterprise level.
What do you dislike?
Most of the people are not very much familiar with the cli mode as mostly linux operating systems will work on cli mode though there is no much rich graphical user interface. Also small organizations cannot afford premium operating system though they offer free OS for few days.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We can manage cloud based applications, servers, security of them and also it improve its features of them. It helps in storage development, application development, containers, microservices etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Best and secure operating system though it takes some time to get habituated to its user interface and also bit expensive.
