Nightfall: Overall a strong and useful tool for protecting sensitive data
What do you like best about the product?
It use some impressive machine learning algorithms to scan and classify sensitive data across a range of cloud services and on-premises systems, but it also offers some really cool integrations.
For instance, Nightfall can be easily integrated with Slack, which means you can receive real-time notifications about potential security risks and take action right away. And if you're a Google Workspace user, Nightfall integrates seamlessly with that as well, so you can easily scan and classify sensitive data across your entire organization. The integration with Slack has been critical for our use case, as it's allowed to catch a number of pieces of sensitive data and manage them before they even reach a user.
But it's not just the integrations that make Nightfall stand out. The user-friendly interface and customizable workflows mean you can tailor the platform to fit your specific needs. And with real-time alerts and automatic remediation actions, you can trust that your sensitive data is well-protected from breaches. In short, it's a very strong platform overall.

What do you dislike about the product?
Nightfall is primarily designed to protect specific types of data, such as financial transactions OR PHI/PII, and may not be suitable for other use cases. This means that you may need to use additional privacy tools or workarounds to protect other types of sensitive information.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We handle a large volume of PHI/PII, and Nightfall has become critical in us being able to identify and manage that senstive data in our org and ensure it is not being transmitted improperly.

Nightfall is easy to use and easy to integrate with the most common places secrets appear
What do you like best about the product?
Nightfall works extremely well for secret detection with common or custom secret values, such as AWS keys or API keys. The integrations of Nightfall allow easy and quick setup with existing systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the false positive rate is much lower than many other tools, tuning is required with common values such as credit cards or other commonly formatted secret values.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We primarily use Nightfall for secrets detection in Git systems, cloud storage, customer-facing systems, as well as using their developer platform for custom integrations.
A decent system for detecting, reporting & redacting sensitive information
What do you like best about the product?
Its ability to detect sensitive data is excellent for our organization, as we handle a lot of sensitive data daily and must ensure that it's adequately protected.
Nightfall is incredibly easy to use. Once deployed, it runs quietly in the background, scanning all messages and files in real-time to identify potential violations. When a possible violation is detected, Nightfall immediately alerts us, allowing us to take appropriate action.

What do you dislike about the product?
While Nightfall has excellent detection rates, it can be a bit over-sensitive in some areas. As it's built over an AI system, it needs to "learn" your systems while you handle & modify the sensitivity thresholds of its detectors. From a security standpoint, it's excellent as you're privy to all potential alerts, but during the initial deployment, it will take some time to fine-tune & get past the false positives.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Nightfall allows us to maintain several regulatory compliance standards. It also provides insight into our organization's data from a top level, giving us a birds-eye view of common detections, who they're from and how often they occur.

What do you like best about the product?
Nightfall is a great DLP solution, adding an extra layer of security to ensure our data is kept safe. Nightfall provides manual integrations along with out-of-the-box integrations. These integrations provide versatility to the tool and are easy to set up. Nightfall provides instant and accurate event collection. User-friendly UI with easy integration between major vendors, Nightfall also provides event log forwarding, which is a plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the not out of the box solutions require custom scripts to get working
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Best in class DLP Solution out there
What do you like best about the product?
We have used Nightfall for Github for nearly a year now and it has been a fantastic tool in detecting secrets in Github repos. It also has the ability to scan pre-historic repos so that very single repo is scanned and any exposed secrets are detected. Great tool all in all.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Nightfall would provide ability to adjust the confidence rules so that customers can adjust the confidence rules to avoid many false positives. I believe its work in progress but would be great to have.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Exposed secrets in Github repositories. Developers sometime leave secrets in their code block and commit and merge. With Nightfalls Github Integration the security team have been able to receive alerts if Nightfall detects any secrets post commit. The Security team then contacts the developer, understand if its a false positive or false negative.
Nightfall works great with slack.

Easily configurable and administer to use in slack.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it gets caught on a specific work and returns false positives.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Stops the sharing of PII on slack. Meets out security policy requirements.
Very easy implementation and effective DLP monitoring
What do you like best about the product?
The implementation for Gmail, GitHub and Slack were extremely easy and Nightfall is very effective in detecting potential issues. The Slack implementation enables incidents to be responded without needing to go in to the dashboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
Being able to action alerts from other applications (GitHub, Drive etc.) within Slack would be really helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Nightfall is helping identify potential data loss activities in real-time and provides timely, detailed alerts for immediate review.
Amazing software with so much potential!
What do you like best about the product?
We love the intuitive interface and easy-to-set-up cloud software. The slack integration makes it super easy to continue to monitor in a dedicated channel without navigating to the Nightfall UI. Also the workflow makes it great to be able to train members on the go!
What do you dislike about the product?
Bulk actions are not possible in the UI, at times, this would be helpful. Also, historical scans are not available through the interface and we would love to be able to do this ourselves even though the Nightfall team is helping us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
HIPAA compliance has been our new project to be as compliant as possible with the evolving laws. Nightfall AI helped us make this super easy with our limited resources.
Best Cloud-friendly option around
What do you like best about the product?
Nightfall is easy to implement and is very friendly to cloud-based companies. We leverage them for 4 different products (Slack, Jira, Confuence, and Zendesk (in early beta currently)) and have found their service intuitive, fairly accurate, and I love their easy response to alerts in Slack. They also export logging to a SIEM very easily and their team is engaged, quick to respond, and the product is developing rapidly. When they say they're building something, they mean it's coming soon and it's really appreciated.
What do you dislike about the product?
My problems with Nightfall aren't really with the company itself, but more the limitations of technology. You can't "auto-redact" in a PDF, image, or attachment, which means the auto-redact rule will simply not work for those types of findings. I've given them the feedback of following different alerts for different finding types, which they've responded well too -- so there's yet another plus for them!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have DLP demands we must meet for our contracts/customers, compliance, and for our own benefit. We have a lot more confidence in where our data is thanks to Nightfall.
Good UI and Easy Setup
What do you like best about the product?
The integrations are very simple to set up compared to other solutions.

I have not been able to find anything to dislike about the product so far
