Cassandra Node: easy and fast to setup

  • December 30, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best?
Cassandra is a lightweight, easy, and fast database to set up locally on Ubuntu. Once configured, you can easily reset/delete the actuall data and start writing data from scratch.
What do you dislike?
It doesn't support wildcard search of the stored data, unlike, for example, oracle/SQL databases. Performance can be less compared to, for instance, MySQL. Since it is not a relational database, duplicate data means more storage is required.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We store billing and charging-related data for subscribers, specifically for financial accounting. In one of Cassandra nodes, all the transactions around invoices, payments, refunds, taxations, etc., need to persist.
