Experience with Collibra
What do you like best about the product?
I like how customizable everything is. There is a good amount of OOTB features to cover basic set-up, but assets, relations, roles are all able to be customized to make for a more unique user experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are certain customizations that I wished were easier, such as being able to control certain features of the UI; for example, the ability to hide the Data Basket feature until it was ready for use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a need for a centralized data catalog, where all of our information is in the same place. Collibra has allowed us visibility into the data we have, and what we are doing with it.

What do you like best about the product?
Data lineage is very rich with a lot of information about a data asset. You can do end-to-end Data governance in Collibra. A lot of tasks have been automated now which is great
What do you dislike about the product?
Using Collibra requires Data Literacy and one must learn a few basics before they start exploring. All DG programs require data literacy so this is a general DG problem today
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cutting time involved in Impact analysis during Change management or troubleshooting a data issue during application support hours and mapping the current state of your data landscape are some of the great benefits
Collibra- One stop shop for Data Governance and Management
What do you like best about the product?
The rich graphical user interface and the user experience Collibra provides are marvelous. It includes a lot of out-of-the-box features and also offers open apis to integrate with other platforms too. You can also automate data integration and management using workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Collibra user community is still growing, so sometimes, you wouldn't be able to find answers to your problems. To solve them, you need to schedule professional or coaching sessions with the Collibra engineering team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Enterprise-level data governance and data management. Some features of collibra include organizing and managing data assets and applying policies to them based on the rules. You can also implement GDPR principles using Collibra.

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to split into clusters or communities which enables you to split all the components within the data lifecycle

Ease of you for non-data governance or management experts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collibra is solving our central governance issues. We are able to enforce governance in a central platform, bringing all stakeholders to collaborate and engage.

What do you like best about the product?
As a tool that is also expected to be used by business users in addition to technical users, collibra is one of the most user-friendly tools in the market providing 360-degree coverage of data. Collibra provides capabilities to take informed decisions by making data discoverable as per the permissions and also making sure we are well equipped against any possible data breach.
What do you dislike about the product?
When we talk about being a one-stop shop for all data needs, I wish to see chat functionality in collibra which is not present as of now. So that any user can contact and chat with the responsible person one-to-one (not using the comments section which can be seen by all users) without going out of collibra.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
By using collibra we can connect the dots and can provide end-to-end information about an asset. This ultimately helps understand the asset and reduces the turnaround time for making an informed decision. Having a tool like collibra not only provides confidence to the user but also makes sure that teams are not duplicating the efforts for making sure data is available to them.

Ability to create relationships and see the relationships in a diagram
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish asset ID was used for uniqueness within domains vs full name... a system generated number would be the most robust control
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping us to govern our master and shared data
Wide suite of tools to perform Data Governance on a single platform
What do you like best about the product?
Everything in one platform, with high customization possibilities. The standard platform architecture is already very useful and comes with a good set of standard workflows. Even that the UX experience is not easy at first, Collibra has a lot of resources online to perform the change management.
What do you dislike about the product?
Complex platform at first. Landing page standard customization possibilities are still poor. The platform should have already integrated from default an analytical dashboard that helped to manage and monitor the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collibra aggregates in one sharable platform the tools to Catalogue, present Data Lineage and Data Quality over all datasets that are available to request access to.

What do you like best about the product?
Transparency of Data, Data Intelligence and Data Culture Development. The whole company, from IT to the business, may gain from data lineage. It gives an organization's data the visibility and context it needs, while also allowing IT to concentrate on strategic projects rather than manually mapping data.
