Collibra Data Governance Center
What do you like best about the product?
Collibra features quality data lineage capabilities and handles master data management well. Governing assets makes logical sense on their platform and configuring new resources and assets is straightforward. Out-of-the-box capabilities are more than enough to help a business start down its data governance initiative.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Edge connector is severely limited by OS requirements and could use expansion in that regard, though the technology itself is impressive. Certain elements of the governance model are either redundant or seem narrow is scope. Namely the assignment of roles and responsibilities. When used in conjunction with groups it works but is difficult to explain to non-technical users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collibra helps solve some major data governance concerns. It makes a quality lineage and provides documentation on who is responsible for what data. It has an inherent change management log through the workflow features that enables better oversight and metric collection.

Collibra is a powerful tool that provides my data with security, allowing it to centralize and automate workflows, fostering collaboration and making privacy possible from start to finish, through its resources it allows speeding up the migration of data to the cloud, saving time and optimizing productivity. and access to large data packages.
What do you dislike about the product?
Collibra enables my team to easily collaborate on privacy initiatives saving time by automating operations, accelerates modernization efforts by allowing teams to develop a trusted language around data ensuring clarity and consistency helping smart decision making and fast with reliable data and nothing displeases me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Colllibra in my organization has literally been a lifesaver helping every team get more value from data by eliminating risk and maximizing value in the cloud by driving trust and empowering trusted self-service analytics, delivering transparency across the organization.
Collibra - metadata management tool
What do you like best about the product?
Collibra is one of the leading metadata management tools that allow its customers to track their data flows and document governance policies and rules that applies to various regulatory programs such as BABC 239, CCAR, GDPR. it is very easy to install and manage both business and technical metadata
What do you dislike about the product?
Collibra is a great metadata management tool, nothing to dislike
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have used Collibra to manage business metadata such as business terms, definitions, policies and rules. What great about Collibra is that it allows the linking of business metadata to technical data such as table/column/report and fields. This allows the business users to identify where is data is originating and how the data is flowing within the supply chain applications. The ingestors can be used to bring the technical metadata for various technologies like mainframe, java , oracle, SQL , cloud technologies and others. We also used Collibra to manage business policies and business rules

Not so easy to implement and could add more content on the structure needed to arrive to what is presented in the commercial version of Collibra

The Collibra platform is a great tool to orgnise data and allow the entire business to build out the data flows bewtwen teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it can be a bit clunky to get certain things to work - mapping specifications can be quite tedious to create.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data flow across the orgnisation has been a challenge and Collibra helps reveal this to a degree.

Collibra is a data privacy cloud service that makes it easy to discover, understand and protect sensitive data, leveraging automation and insights to speed up privacy operations by applying a machine learning algorithm classifying data by category and confidentiality protecting data potential of the company, it is a perfect tool that makes us feel confident where all the data is safe, there is no information leak, everything works safely.
What do you dislike about the product?
Collibra is an excellent service to classify confidential data, improve accuracy and save time, obtaining a maximum increase in productivity, it is a tool that has been of great help for data security and better process management, facilitating quick access by teams to data and feel confident. It offers full features is wonderful and nothing bothers me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collibra is a powerful privacy service in the cloud that provides great results in my organization, thanks to this tool we have increased the increase in time and productivity by 50%, it helps the migration of data to the cloud to be clean, accurate and relevant. Work teams can now discover and trust when accessing data quickly. It is a secure and flexible tool that offers great results to organizations.

I recommend Collibra because it puts the power to maintain sensitive data compliance, discovery, and protection at your fingertips with better data compression across the organization saving time, delivering powerful results with trusted data, mitigating risk, and driving collaboration with self-service.

A closed community and not many resources are available on the internet.

1. Centralized catalog of metadata.
2. Helps in keeping the business glossary of the collected data in our datalake.
3. Makes Data searching easier in our data lake
4. Helps to define the governance attributes on certain meta-data fields ( PII, Sensitive, hashed, anonymized ), etc

What do you like best about the product?
User can create custom views. Workflows help to manage ownership discussion.
What do you dislike about the product?
To develop a workflow you need to use Eclipse. Versioning and deploying workflows is not user-friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am configuring the tool and developing custom solutions.

Collibra as a product, its UI, features, and great resources to accompany its deployment, incl. governance strategy/framework, and expertise from Collibra architects
What do you dislike about the product?
Collibra as a technology/capability still needs to evolve to support data governance activities end-to-end, namely the data quality and data lineage capabilities need to mature. Then Collibra will be even better for larger enterprises

Making access to data easy, user friendly interface to understand data better, workflows to support data governance processes
Collibra is a Great Data Governance Product
What do you like best about the product?
Collibra creates comprehensive, detailed technical lineages that can be customized to display the data flow customers are searching for. Collibra displays all connections from a high level, which can then be zoomed in to display specific areas of interest. The view of the areas of interest can then be customized to display attributes of interest to the customer.
What do you dislike about the product?
Collibra charges separately for connections to programs such as Salesforce, Oracle, and ServiceNow through their marketplace. If you have a large number of programs to connect, it can get expensive quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have created several business glossaries for different departments in our organization. They can all be viewed as one large glossary and definitions can easily be compared between departments using Collibra. We have also mapped our Informatica Workflows, created a custom Data Access Request workflow, uploaded metadata from a wide variety of programs into the Data Catalog, and uploaded many database schemas.
