The major use cases that I have involve using Ubuntu as an OS on servers, where I deployed major services and projects over containers like Kubernetes or Docker, and my team uses Ubuntu on their laptops for better performance and prevention of any attacks.
What is most valuable?
The most beneficial features of Ubuntu include the ability to run smoothly on low-end devices, making it the main system of our environment for servers, and allowing for easy configuration with Kubernetes or Docker for product deployment, along with a vast environment of services available on Ubuntu and Linux-based systems.
Ubuntu helps in our operations by being lightweight and server-optimized compared to other operating systems like Windows and macOS, which makes our processes very seamless for deployment, log generation, and containerization, allowing us to debug issues easily through Docker logs.
What needs improvement?
Despite mentioning many advantages, an area for improvement in Ubuntu is its application support, as it lacks many GUI-friendly applications that are available on Windows or macOS, which limits usability for tasks requiring specific software.
The ecosystem of Ubuntu is a major concern due to the limited availability of user-friendly applications compared to other operating systems.
For how long have I used the solution?
I started working with Ubuntu 20 (Ubuntu 20.04 LTS) (ARM) | Support by SupportedImages when I was using it in mid-2025, and I have over seven to eight months of experience on it, and I switched to Ubuntu 24, the LTS version, in February 2026.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Ubuntu is quite stable; however, I have noticed some driver failures in the 24 LTS version recently, while the 20th version remains very stable since it is a previous LTS variant.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I believe Ubuntu is very scalable, though there can be limitations due to the lack of certain tools for applications, necessitating the use of Chrome for some software, which could enhance UI/UX purposes on the OS.

I have utilized community support for Ubuntu, but extensive documentation is available online, eliminating the need to contact support as everything we need is present.
How was the initial setup?
The installation of Ubuntu is quite straightforward with only seven to eight steps needed in the BIOS for any device that supports it, making it easy for users.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Regarding pricing, it is quite normal; for local machines like my laptop, the licensing cost is normal, but on servers, it can be higher, and although other competitors like Windows exist, they often lack compatibility with servers, making Linux a better option.

I use Docker as a primary container service on Ubuntu, alongside Kubernetes, where I deploy major services on Docker itself, utilizing Docker Hub over the Ubuntu machine to deploy our services.

There is nothing that can not be done in Ubuntu. I can do competitive programming, project development, and numerous other tasks which can not be done so easily on any other OS.
Previously I was using Ubuntu 18 LTS version, but when Ubuntu 20 LTS was released I initially doubt if I should install it or not. But after listening to positive reviews from developers across the globe I decided to make a switch and this was my best decision so far. Thanks to the community for providing free OS with such great capabilities.
Overall I find it has helped the developer to increase their efficiency and my colleagues are also finding it very easy to use. I recommend this to every developer, try it I bet you won't regret it.
