Real-Time Protection That Helps Reduce Phishing Incidents
What do you like best about the product?
It has been very helpful for us in reducing phishing incidents by monitoring browser activity and blocking malicious pages in real time.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial setup took some time to understand, mainly because I needed to define the rules for different user groups.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helped us block employees from accessing phishing pages and other suspicious websites directly in the browser.
Lightweight Browser Extension Security with Clear Visibility Across Browsers
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to secure unmanaged devices was a major reason we adopted LayerX. Many of our employees work remotely on personal devices, and the browser extension deployment let us enforce security policies without having to install heavy agents. Even with that lightweight approach, the platform still gives us clear visibility into risky activity and data transfers. It also works across different browsers, which made rollout and adoption much easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
User onboarding required clear, consistent communication so employees understood why the extension was needed. At first, some people were concerned about privacy, but once we explained the scope of the monitoring, those worries eased.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can prevent sensitive data from being copied or uploaded to unsafe locations. It also detects suspicious browser activity that may indicate compromised accounts. Overall, this has given our security team stronger control and visibility over remote access.
LayerX Delivers Strong Browser Security and Visibility Across SaaS Apps
What do you like best about the product?
Most of our day-to-day work happens in SaaS applications, so browser security is critical for us. LayerX monitors file uploads, downloads, and data movement across web apps, which helps us keep better visibility into how information is handled. The identity-based controls also make it easier to ensure employees use only corporate accounts when accessing company resources. On top of that, it flags suspicious activity, such as unusual file transfers, so we can catch potential issues early.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial rollout required close coordination across several teams so we didn’t end up blocking legitimate workflows. A few users also saw warning prompts when uploading files, but that improved once we refined the policies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before using LayerX, we were concerned that employees might upload sensitive files to personal SaaS accounts. Now we can automatically restrict those actions, which helps ensure company data stays within approved corporate accounts.
Clear SaaS & AI Visibility with Smooth Browser Experience and Easy Deployment
What do you like best about the product?
Our security team can clearly see how employees interact with SaaS tools and AI platforms. It works smoothly across common browsers, so users don’t have to switch to a completely new environment. Deployment was also simpler than many of the other security tools we tested, which made rollout much easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the policy controls take a little time to fully understand when you’re setting them up for the first time. The dashboard also shows a lot of data, which can feel overwhelming at first until you get used to where everything is.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were struggling to understand and track how employees were interacting with AI tools and cloud apps through their browsers. LayerX helped us uncover several unsanctioned tools being used internally. Now we can enforce safer usage policies without getting in the way of productivity. It has also helped reduce the risk of sensitive data being copied into AI prompts.
Best-in-Class Control Over Generative AI Tools for Compliance Teams
What do you like best about the product?
Overall, the level of control over the generative AI tools is one of the best features for our compliance team.
What do you dislike about the product?
I’d like to see more automated templates on the dashboards for different industry-specific compliance standards.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is really a strong shield against phishing links that try to bypass our email filters.
Secure LLM Access Without Risking Sensitive Code or PII
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to let users access LLM platforms while strictly preventing them from pasting sensitive source code or PII into the prompt bar.
What do you dislike about the product?
If the reporting dashboard allowed more customizable CSV reports, it would be so good.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solved our shadow AI crisis by giving us monitoring of employees’ browser activity, while still maintaining technical barriers against accidental data leaks.
Layer X Blocks Phishing in the Browser with Minimal Workflow Impact
What do you like best about the product?
Layer X blocks malicious and known phishing pages directly in the browser, with minimal impact on workflows. This helps improve the company’s security at a base level.
What do you dislike about the product?
At first, tuning the policy settings was confusing, but now I’m not having any issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This helps reduce security issues that can arise from unsafe browsing.
LayerX helps me get my job done in an easier fashion.
What do you like best about the product?
How easy it is to use and helps me get my job done in an easier fashion. I work at our IT department and have to run performance checks on the applications our employees use. It’s not my favorite part of the job but it needs to be done. Otherwise, unauthorized applications (also known in our industry as shadow IT) might be used and could constitute a risk to our systems. With LayerX I can get reports of how our employees use any applications and identify the unauthorized ones. I can easily see which applications are being used, if accounts are being shared and if data is being leaked. It is all made accessible to me in a clear mapping and in reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
It doesn’t solve the issue of me having to monitor employees for the applications they use :(
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Identifying unauthorized SaaS applications used by our employees and any leaked data.
Helps prevent employees from adding malicious browser extensions
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate that LayerX is its ability to enforce organization-wide policies with just one click.
Unfortunately in the past we have had ocassions where some of our employees have installed unauthorized browser extensions, which had malware that infiltrated our systems. This led to major financial repercussions.
LayerX makes it easy for me to create and implement policies that prevents the addition of any extension across all company browsers, which is a great way to prevent employees from adding malicious browser extensions that could create an internal breach.

What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have any particular dislikes to note.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us prevent breaches and allows us to control which browser extensions are allowed on company systems. This helps us ensure the security and integrity of our internal systems.
We needed a solution for creating policies to protect data. LayerX was the one
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to create policies based on the actual actions our employees took online. We recently found out some of our users had accidentally uploaded sensitive data to an unauthorized SaaS application. We were able to quickly fix the issue but needed a solution to prevent this from recurring in the future. LayerX was the solution we found. I can see what actions users are taking, but most importantly, I can set policies to determine what employees are permitted or prohibited to do. I was able to set policies based on a few different characteristics, like the user’s role, where they accessed from, what they did and the types of risks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Just took me a few minutes to figure out how to create the first policy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Controlling which data is shared online through accurate policies that are detailed enough for our needs.
