My main use case for SS&C Blue Prism is to automate repeated tasks which don't require human intervention and to save time and cost through automation. A few HR processes have already been automated. A couple of accounting functionalities are in the process of automation. Once done, it will be able to handle this task without any hassle. We are offering clients the opportunity to include this in their own processes as well, and talks for this are in the finalizing stage.

Automation has transformed HR and accounting workflows and now saves thousands of manual hours
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
The best features SS&C Blue Prism offers are that data manipulation and handling is very easy and user-friendly. Email handling is excellent, and we are able to automate this task easily. It is considerably secure in handling sensitive data credentials.
SS&C Blue Prism has positively impacted my organization as it has saved a considerable amount of time, more than 5,000 hours of manual work so far. It has saved a considerable amount of money as well. If their costing improves, this metric will improve largely for all organizations. It requires very little coding, so instead of hiring new people trained in a specific tool, we are able to manage this with the existing workforce with a few weekend classes. This approach is very manageable.
What needs improvement?
People new to automation will find it a bit tedious at the beginning because object recognition methods will take a while to catch on. Pricing for SS&C Blue Prism will need improvement for larger market capture.
SS&C Blue Prism can be improved in that costing is on the higher side, especially for organizations working under a tight budget. Object recognition could use improvement. It is almost there, but if we could do away with almost any need for coding, it will be great, especially for those who are less tech-savvy.
The documentation for SS&C Blue Prism is adequate, but tutorials and online videos would be beneficial if added.
The only other improvements needed for SS&C Blue Prism that I haven't mentioned yet is that costing is higher and object recognition work may need time to be hands-on.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using SS&C Blue Prism for the past five years.

My experience with SS&C Blue Prism's customer support is that the support is good and with time, online support in other forums is becoming available as well.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Previously, we were using UiPath Enterprise RPA platform. The reason why we switched, despite UiPath being a good tool, was that it is open source, so it has some limitations. However, SS&C Blue Prism is more popular and famous as of now. Our team took that into consideration before making the final decision. It is also very easy to use with minimal coding. Additionally, it automates a lot and is easy to handle, saving time and money. Those factors were another big plus. That is why we decided to switch from UiPath to SS&C Blue Prism.
How was the initial setup?
My experience with SS&C Blue Prism's pricing, setup cost, and licensing is that the cost can be high, especially for organizations working under a tight budget, so the price could be more pocket-friendly and user-friendly. The setup is fairly simple. If you could do away with the coding, it would be perfect.
What was our ROI?
I have seen a return on investment with SS&C Blue Prism as it has saved us money and time through automation.

SS&C Blue Prism is very secure in handling our sensitive data credentials, and we have peace of mind. I would rate this product a 9 out of 10.
Automation has transformed tedious finance and HR tasks and has saved us hours for meaningful work
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for SS&C Blue Prism is to automate end-to-end processes. I use SS&C Blue Prism Cloud to automate end-to-end processes, and with it, I can quickly scale up or down according to my business needs. Currently, the scope of my use includes the automation of the following processes: data migration from existing legacy systems, capturing and structuring data from incoming requests, information aggregation from various sources, pre-processing input documents using algorithms, passing processed information and documents on to downstream activities and applications, and monitoring compliance and performance standards as per regulatory guidelines.
A specific example of one process I have automated recently using SS&C Blue Prism is in project management, HR, and finance, where it helps save on average one hour per week in HR and finance. I also use it to verify invoices and use OCR to scrape printed documents into an Excel format. This task would usually be done by hand and would be time-consuming as well as tedious, but SS&C Blue Prism's capability allows for human intervention where necessary. It also integrates most of the tools and most of the processes, hence saving time and reducing human error.
How has it helped my organization?
SS&C Blue Prism has positively impacted my organization as the process flow is very easy for a non-technical person to understand. For example, if a project manager wanted to see progress on automation, that manager could simply look at the flow and understand the process. It uses standard flow diagram icons that are easily distinguishable. This is in contrast to other tools like UiPath, which can be more complex from merely glancing at it.
There are massive time savings with SS&C Blue Prism. Saving one hour per person per week in various departments like HR and finance internally is great. All new joiners have had to have new SS&C Blue Prism licenses, which are a bit expensive. This is one of my dislikes.
I can tell you that through the automation of tedious and time-consuming processes, I have been able to save one hour per person per week compared to my previous tool, which was UiPath Enterprise RPA platform.
What is most valuable?
The best features SS&C Blue Prism offers, in my opinion, are its scaling, flexibility, and also the AI and automation.
SS&C Blue Prism's flexibility is very helpful as it is easy to use. It can be used by everyone, so it is highly adopted in my organization. When it comes to automation, it helps to automate most of the tedious processes in my organization, saving time and cost, so it is a very helpful tool.
SS&C Blue Prism also has a very intuitive and powerful user-friendly interface.
What needs improvement?
SS&C Blue Prism can be improved as it has no free trial software, which meant I could not learn it in my spare time. Also, the software looks like Windows 98 compared to other sleeker and newer software such as UiPath. If you have not been strict with yourself in learning and laying out your process flow, it can get very messy very quickly.
Regarding needed improvements, the training is seamless, and the customer support has been there to support me. The integration with other tools is not as seamless as it could be. The reporting and user interface are very user-friendly, and I have no problem with those aspects.

Automated email workflows have improved appointment delivery accuracy and boosted customer satisfaction
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for SS&C Blue Prism includes that it helped a lot in storing critical information from emails in a standardized data set that allows our supply chain team to utilize the information swiftly and act accordingly. It saved a lot of time in communication and focused on more effective communication that helped us honor customer service agreements and increase our customer satisfaction.
In a specific example of how SS&C Blue Prism helped with storing email information and improving communication, while working in last-mile, appointment-based supply chain deliveries to high-end customers, it was very critical that our company honors the appointments given to increase customer satisfaction and support sales. Since the appointments are spread through the day with limited manpower, we usually missed the appointments and spent a lot of time rescheduling and then further delaying existing appointments and future appointments. With automating email communication, we were able to store the information and communicate with the concerned supply chain team so that they could take action simultaneously and optimize supply chain operations and customer satisfaction.
We also use SS&C Blue Prism for auto-reply to emails tailored to each email so that it does not feel robotic or generalized.
What is most valuable?
In my opinion, the best features SS&C Blue Prism offers are that it is very effective. It offers a free trial and premium integration. It also offers workflow creation which is simple and easy. The flow structure is easy to read and can be directly used in presentations to customers and management. Additionally, it includes auto-reply to emails tailored to each email so that it does not feel robotic or generalized. Storing information from emails in a standardized data set is another great feature. The user interface is very intuitive and user-friendly.
The user interface of SS&C Blue Prism is very intuitive and user-friendly, making it very easy to use all the features. It can be used by any kind of tech-savvy personnel.
SS&C Blue Prism has positively impacted our organization as we were able to save at least $10,000 USD per quarter by improving communication to optimize supply chain operations. It also saves two manpower per year by automating email communication.
What needs improvement?
SS&C Blue Prism can be improved because it has no trial software, which meant I could not learn it in my spare time without a PG-2 approved and paid license. This delayed my learning and led me to pursue UiPath instead, which has a community free edition that is very powerful.
Additional needed improvements for SS&C Blue Prism include that if you have not been strict with yourself in planning and laying out your process flow, it can get very messy very quickly. More forethought is needed to create a workflow compared to competitors.

My advice to others looking into using SS&C Blue Prism is that it is easy to use. SS&C Blue Prism has an amazing user-friendly interface which is very easy to use if you have prior experience working with RPA. It becomes a mess if you have too many ongoing projects, but it is quite good for people who are new to the industry. I would rate this product an 8 out of 10.
Has helped multiple teams automate customer care tasks and reduce reliance on external agents
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for SS&C Blue Prism is automating business processes in different areas of the company, for legacy application automations, for SAP, different web services, and we provide that as a platform, so different teams in the company are using that.
And we as a core team also provide consultancy for different product teams and implementations for our own processes.
A specific example of a process I've automated with SS&C Blue Prism is everything around customer care.
We have a lot of customer requests on a daily basis for different use cases, and we have different processes for that.
These processes are mainly focusing on different applications in customer care areas that are supporting the customers in getting support earlier in case they have different questions on a product or they have requests or problems with their article, then they can request different services via an application and RPA processes are handling their requests automatically and providing the service and requesting on internal applications the service that is then executed for the customer.
Efficient Workflow Creation with Some Debugging Issues
Has defined complex workflows and handled detailed automation scenarios efficiently
What is our primary use case?
SS&C Blue Prism is used for all automation cases and process automation. For example, in claims handling and pricing processes in the insurance company, we have automated the process for extracting data from multiple systems and putting this into one system.
What is most valuable?
Writing the workflow and defining the conditions is what I most appreciate about SS&C Blue Prism. We prefer SS&C Blue Prism because we can define the workflow and conditions in detail. We can write all the possible scenarios, and we can also specify what we expect the bot to do if none of the scenarios match.
What needs improvement?
It requires extensive knowledge if somebody wants to work on SS&C Blue Prism, compared to other tools. The downside is you need to be very aware of the tool. You need to know how to write the workflow and have a detailed understanding of SS&C Blue Prism. It takes more time to learn compared to other tools in the market which are more user-friendly.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using it for close to five years, though not on a daily basis.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It requires maintenance. You need to monitor the servers and all the running bots for any errors. It needs a team to handle SS&C Blue Prism automation once it has been developed.
We have a different team who handles SS&C Blue Prism operations, monitoring the daily bots to ensure they are running properly. It's not a case where you develop a use case and then don't need to look into it once deployed. Continuous monitoring is required.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It is scalable from the solution perspective. Sometimes you need to upgrade your server if you have many bots, but otherwise, it maintains good scalability.
How are customer service and support?
We occasionally write emails to them if we're unable to understand some log files or error messages. Generally, we are able to handle the errors ourselves, but we contact them when necessary.
They are very responsive. We have never experienced a case where we sent a message to the support team and didn't receive a reply. They provide very detailed responses that enable us to handle any issues effectively.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup takes within a week to complete.
What about the implementation team?
Two to three persons should be sufficient for implementation.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We also considered UIPath. For very detailed processes with many different cases and complex requirements, I would recommend SS&C Blue Prism. However, for simpler automation processes, UIPath might be more suitable.
What other advice do I have?
This review rates SS&C Blue Prism at 8 out of 10. We use it with an on-premises deployment model through Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Great product for RPA
Excellent and innovative RPA solution
Workflow efficiency with enhanced visibility but needs improved integration
What is our primary use case?
My primary use case for SS&C is managing migration projects. We are currently working on migrating from ViewStation's 3.5 version using K scripts to the new version in SS&C and rebuilding the application based on these scripts.
How has it helped my organization?
The solution improves our workflow efficiency, offering simpler design and implementation compared to earlier versions. The drag-and-drop features are familiar and useful for designing and implementing workflows with limited activities.
What is most valuable?
The key feature of SS&C that I find valuable is the general workflow visibility. SS&C's workflow design is straightforward, allowing even those with basic BPM tool knowledge to easily understand the flow, conditions, exceptions, and paths. This transparency aids in the successful execution and testing of applications.
What needs improvement?
There is a need for improved integration with external systems in SS&C. Currently, integration is limited to web services and K scripts for connecting to third-party systems, which I believe can be expanded.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using this solution since January 2024. I have 12 months of experience with it.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is generally stable, though we have faced issues with increased transaction loads causing latency and occasional hang-ups. This affected database performance and required manual transaction management.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The scalability of SS&C is not high. It follows a set experience level path, which limits its ability to scale efficiently. I would rate its scalability as a four out of ten.
How are customer service and support?
Customer service for SS&C is satisfactory yet could use improvement. We have encountered delays in support response, but ultimately they provided assistance in resolving issues.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup of SS&C is easy and efficient. I would rate it ten out of ten.
What about the implementation team?
My team, consisting of exclusive six members, is divided into development support and testing teams. We collaboratively manage applications.
What other advice do I have?
In the future, expanding team usage is planned, with expectations to increase usage by another 20 members post-April. Currently, 34 internal team members use it.
I would rate SS&C seven out of ten.
Design studio enables effective automation while licensing needs improvement
What is our primary use case?
I use this solution to automate repetitive manual tasks, typically in back-office service industries.
What is most valuable?
I find the design studio, where I can build the automation, and the control room feature, which allows me to run and monitor the automation, to be the most useful.
What needs improvement?
I noticed that it lacks the ability to automatically record the process steps like some of its competitors. Having this capability could accelerate the process. The delivery methodology felt somewhat waterfall in style and not sufficiently agile.
Additionally, the licensing model was somewhat prohibitive. It was not developed in a consumption-based manner, however, rather in a fixed-price licensing model that did not account for volumes.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have used the solution for five years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I found it to be high on stability, and I would rate it at nine out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I found it to be highly scalable, and I would say it rates at nine out of ten.
How are customer service and support?
I rate customer service at six out of ten. It was slow to access and not always particularly useful. The response times were slow to turn around.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup was not particularly complex compared to other competitors. I do not have anything more to add.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The pricing was not particularly competitive. It wasn't flexible for different geographies. For instance, in Africa, they didn't have a different pricing model to account for affordability.
The pricing model was not modern, as it wasn't designed on a consumption basis or as a service basis. Instead, it involved a fixed annual cost that I had to commit to for three years. It could be considered a little bit old-fashioned.
What other advice do I have?
It's SS&C with zero AI capabilities. I would rate the solution seven out of ten.
