Single Pane of Glass across Multi Vendor Cost Confusion
What do you like best about the product?
The ability for Vantage to in multiple clouds across multiple orgs and slice and dice the data is impressive. It helps me and my clients control costs simply, eliminating the need for complex Excel documents or custom API reporting (which we could have developed).
Being able to bring accounts in from Clouds and build custom reorting groups (Org Wide, Dept etc) allows us to track and find data. The weekly emails allow pacing on budget and spot the odd ones out.

What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the systems were limited, but now, with the addition of custom providers, you can bring in any data relevant to your team.
The cost, initially seeming steep, becomes more understandable as usage increases, particularly when encountering runaway NAT gateways in AWS. The savings add up.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to merge costs across multiple AWS Orgs and bring this into a single pane of glass was the main use case.
Then once we had the data being able to see wastage and then jump onto it ASAP is where the additional value came.

Cost reporting made easy
What do you like best about the product?
Using Vantage has provided our company quicker and easier visibility into our AWS spend, quickly highlighting areas of overspend. The platform already paid for itself. Ready to use terraform modules made this a smooth implementation within our pre-existing IaC.
What do you dislike about the product?
More providers would be nice, for instance we use Aiven which is a relatively well known solution but not natively available on the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Higher costs visibility and team-based cost reporting.
Very flexible tool to bridge gap in tagging strategy
What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility to add tags based on custom rules. This allows us to not be too strict in our tagging strategy in our CloudProvider and fill any gaps with custom logic afterwards.
We mainly use vantage to split bills in shared environments based on usage using "Virtual tags" with cost-based values . This worked way better than e.g. with kubecost. It's not perfect for this use case, but it works good enough. It's great, that those split costs can then be inspected in the cost reports.
The great support for Terraform and the API is a big plus for us as well.

What do you dislike about the product?
* The usage of virtual tags, especially when multiple of those are involved or in the case of cost-based values can become complicated.
* Some custom rules, like adding a fixed amount to a bill are not supported at all.
* The drill-down functionality in cost-reports does not always select the most useful dimension to drill down into. But it's still pretty good.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it mainly to split cost of shared environments to each tenant using it.
It also allows us to correctly integrate things like AWS SavingsPlans and other shared cost and split it across tenants.

Fast & Frictionless
What do you like best about the product?
Vantage delivers an incredibly user-friendly experience with a clean UI and well-structured dashboards. Even for teams without deep financial expertise, navigating through cost breakdowns, budget insights, and anomaly detection feels seamless. The platform simplifies complex cloud spending data, making it easy to take action.
One of the biggest advantages of Vantage is its quick and hassle-free setup. Unlike some FinOps tools that require extensive integration efforts, Vantage connects smoothly with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and third-party SaaS tools. Within hours or days, not weeks, organizations can start monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing their cloud costs.

What do you dislike about the product?
Some advanced features may require custom configurations
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It centralizes all cloud and SaaS costs into a single, easy-to-understand dashboard, breaking down spend by service, team, or project. Real-time cost tracking helps prevent budget overruns.
Intuitive Cloud Cost Observability platform
What do you like best about the product?
We use Vantage several times a week to monitor our cloud expenditure. We like being able to centralize our cost and usage data from both AWS and Azure, with options for more integrations as our organization grows. Integrating accounts is quite straightforward. The user interface is intuitive and lets us quickly identify anomalies and drill down into where our costs are being generated. Easier to use than the corresponding reports on AWS or Azure. Customer support has been very responsive on the rare occasion we needed them.
What do you dislike about the product?
The recently introduced Network Flow reports can be a bit tricky to enable, and the reports themselves can be unintuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vantage provides consolidated reports of costs and usage across all of us AWS accounts and Azure subscription. This saves us time in monitoring cost and identifying anomalies and potential savings.
The only cloud cost management tool we need
What do you like best about the product?
We've been a Vantage customer almost since the inception of our company. As soon as we had AWS credits to spend, I set up Vantage (which was itself very early stage at the time). It was easy to get deployed, and was vastly superior to AWS' built-in cost management tools.
In those early days we were pushing some Vantage features to their limit, and I had several very pleasant and productive interactions with their support and even their CEO. It's been years since I've needed to reach out to their support, as the product is very solid, works very well, and is intuitive. I even onboarded our controller to Vantage so that she can self-serve her own data to attribute our spend to COGS, R&D, or sales activities.

What do you dislike about the product?
I don't think this is a "dislike" per se, but sometimes I wish it could be configured to automatically do things like terminate VMs in non-prod accounts that have been running more than a few days, delete detached volumes in non-prod accounts after some time, etc. But I understand why they don't do that; it's an entirely different level of access and probably a liability that they'd prefer to avoid.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have over 150 AWS accounts across our org, used by developers, QA, sales, and our production workloads. It would be impossible to keep track of who is spending what and to catch runaway spend before it gets out of hand, if we didn't have Vantage.
