What do you like best about the product?
It has introduced several performance enhancements, including better memory management and more efficient query processing. It allows to run advanced analytics on data stored in SQL Server without needing to move the data elsewhere.
What do you dislike about the product?
SQL Server 2017 is pretty resource-intensive. While it’s designed for high-performance workloads, it can be overkill for smaller or less complex systems. If you're running on Windows Server 2016 with limited resources (especially in smaller environments), you might find performance is impacted unless you have a powerful enough setup. Even with optimizations, the memory and CPU consumption can sometimes be excessive for smaller-scale applications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SQL Server 2017 comes with Adaptive Query Processing, which helps optimize queries based on workload patterns in real-time. Features like Automatic Tuning and Intelligent Query Processing automatically adjust execution plans, helping to improve performance without manual intervention.
