What do you like best about the product?
The willingness of NightFall to work with us has been more than impressive. They went above and beyond for us in terms of working within our timelines and budgets and canot recoomend them enough .
What do you dislike about the product?
There have been a few bugs here and there but nothignt hat we havent been able to work through.

NightFall are aklways willing to work with us and ensure that we get the best out of the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We did not initally have a DLP tool and were looking at the best tool in the Market. Nightfall stood out to us due to the integrations that were available and the cross over of tooling in our company.

The ability to integrate tool seamlessly was very attractive to us also as we cotinue to grow in an organsiation.

The Alerting in Slack too was a big decision in choosing NightFall as we prdominatley utilise Slack in our company.

A User’s Perspective on Nightfall AI: Navigating the Upsides and Downsides

  • November 09, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
My experience with Nightfall AI has been largely positive, especially in its application for monitoring sensitive information like PHI (Protected Health Information) and adhering to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations. The system's adeptness at integrating with Stack and Google Drive to monitor our data repositories has been invaluable. Setting up the alerts was a straightforward process, which speaks volumes about the user-friendliness of the platform. What stands out the most is Nightfall AI’s customer support; they proactively arranged a meeting with our IT team to ensure the setup was tailored to our company's specific needs. The personal touch of assigning a direct contact for any issues we might face added a layer of reliability that is often missing in other tech services. The precision and ease of integration are clear upsides that make Nightfall AI an asset in our company's data security measures.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the setup and integration process was easy, there is a learning curve when it comes to fine-tuning the system to reduce false positives without compromising the sensitivity needed for detecting genuine issues. The alert system, although robust, can be overwhelming if not configured correctly, leading to alert fatigue among team members.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Nightfall AI is tackling the complex issue of data protection and compliance, particularly in the context of HIPAA regulations.

What do you like best about the product?
Support is very responsive and are always keen to engage with us
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing comes to mind however, if I were to be very critical, I would like to see a bit more in terms of console logging to external systems
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Prevents and alerts upon breaches of sensitive data

Nightfall is a great product that has helped find sensitive data across our applications.

  • October 03, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I am in the healthcare industry and have very sensitive data that needs to be protected. Nightfall makes it easy to identify sensitive data and create notifications to send to employees to let them know there was a violation and how to handle the data correctly. Nightfall can also take action on that data and redact when appropriate. Nightfall has been a beneficial tool for our data security.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few issues with the UI, but our account manager is very helpful and any issue that I have is addressed with the product team in a timely manner.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using nightfall to identify and protect our most sensitive data.

Nightfall has been a game changer for DLP!!

  • October 03, 2023
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Nightfall has such ease of use, our users that have been provided access are able to understand how to use this tool in such a short time. The initial setup was not only easy, but was able to be setup in such a short period of time. The support that nightfall has provided for us has been amazing, they are always attending to our needs and continuing to develop their tool in order to provide more and more features.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing we would like to see is some type of seperation for alerts based on user access, this would allow teams to manage all their own alerts vs. seeing alerts for everyones team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Users who have not been properly trained, or fail to comply with any policies that state users should not be uploading sensitive information into Jira/confluence.

Intuitive DLP Solution

  • September 28, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like how the violations are managed. Nightfall makes it easy to redact items that violate your company's policys around protecting PII, PCI, Secrets and creditentials. I use the tool daily so the dashboard, and violations help support my information security needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that when items in Confluence show up as a violation, that Nightfall provided a link to that Confluence page. Same as when a link to a Jira ticket that has been detected as a violation, there's a link to the Jira ticket from the violtation profile.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My org is trying to proactively prevent the sharing of sensitive information.

Remove data in a breeze

  • September 15, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Setting up Nightfall was simple, fast, and straightforward. It didn't take very much to have it up and running and took little lift on our end; but does require making sure there is an administrator and service account for each platform you are connecting to are available.

It's easy to use and straightforward, integrates with Slack, so I am notified about new alerts and violations when there is data sitting around; but most importantly I am aware the data exists and where to find it.

We found interest in its ability to detect API Keys but have not delved further into it yet.

So far, we have it connected to a few systems and it's been working well. I haven't been using the system long enough to tell you our ROI.

From a security standpoint, the team has been very responsive and forthcoming with policies, and information so I can conduct a security review. Their SOC 2 was made available upon singing a NDA. I reviewed the documentaiton and still have more questions so they are taking the additional questions and having those answered.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nightfall is still a relatively newer product, so the team is still building out additional integration and features.

We currently have it integrated with a few systems and look forward to seeing more. We hope to see an integration with Asana. I wonder if it would be able to check Gmail? I don't have insight on the pricing model so I cannot comment on that.

One feature I pointed out to the team that I think is unnecesary is having to press on the "Expand all" function on each violation; all the information should just be available and appear without having to click.

Another downside is not being able to assign a user to a violation and not being able to write a note for a whole violation.

Another piece of feedback is being able to take action on a violation in Slack, so a user doesn't have to go into the dashboard.

It's a downside there is another dashboard to check, but perhaps the developer tools can be used to bring in centralized logs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We want to have visibility on what kind of information is living in our environment and how it is being used/shared. We also want to make sure information isn't being shared with the open internet and only authorized users should have access to the information.
