Smart home and city : data visualization from multiple data sources

Visualize data from your smart home and city devices so you can act to maintain reliability, availability, and performance.

Monitoring smart home and city data sources like video feeds, air quality levels, weather trends, and traffic data can be difficult if not aggregated into an easy-to-build dashboard.

Dashboard platforms enable users to combine maps, graphs, gauges, and data streams into a real-time, interactive data visualization dashboards.

Bug Labs

Bug Labs' freeboard platform enables businesses to build real-time, interactive dashboards and visualizations to track smart home and city data. From tracking air quality levels and general weather trends, to area construction and news, the freeboard platform allows combinations of data to be viewed in one simple and shareable URL.

Bug Labs' freeboard platform makes it possible to combine maps, graphs, and gauges to build a smart home and smart city dashboard, with the option to connect third-party APIs to the freeboard platform directly, via plugin, or using the standard JSON data source. Businesses can connect to the AWS IoT API via the freeboard platform or use dweet.io to import their data.

Here's how it works:

  1. Connect a data source
    • Select a standard data source (AWS IOT, dweet.io, JSON, Weather)
    • Add a custom data source via Developer Console
    • Add multiple data sources from multiple devices or APIs
  2. Add a widget
    • Use a standard widget, or add a custom widget via Developer Console
    • Create new widgets using HTML
    • Connect the widget to the data source using freeboard’s click-through interface
    • Keep adding widgets for each data point in need of visualization
  3. Customize the dashboard
    • Drag and drop widgets into the desired dashboard location
    • Add custom colors using CSS
  4. Share the dashboard
    • Keep the dashboard public and send the URL to users; or
    • Make the dashboard private adding users with read-only or edit access
