In a fast-moving business world and the dawn of the AI revolution, collecting and analyzing data for decision making is not only obligatory, it is imperative. However, data, especially in large amounts, usually needs to be brought into a form in which it is available in the right quality, granularity and quantity. To this end, so called Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) pipelines are leveraged, which are able to effect data transformations from source to target. ETL pipelines, under the hood, are dependent on compute resources. The larger the amount of data and the more complicated the transformation, ETL pipelines need to scale up to render results in a timely manner. For this reason, traditional on-premises ETL operations may suffer from under- or overprovisioning issues. By leveraging its partnership with AWS, MHP can help customers migrate and transform their existing legacy ETL pipelines into fully-scalable, serverless ETL pipelines based on AWS Glue. MHP‘s approach follows the traditional Assess, Mobilize and Migrate/Modernize process, that AWS recommends for cloud migrations: During the ASSESS phase, MHP helps to analyze the existing ETL landscape in terms of sizing and licensing, as well as the data requirements by the business (data quality, data governance, data privacy, etc.) to arrive at a business and migration case.
