National Association of Boards of Pharmacy Migrates to AWS with IBM's Support

Biolytica, a Swiss-based health span company, needed the right partner to bring its visionary idea for a data-driven longevity platform to life. For this innovative start-up, establishing an AWS culture with a trusted provider was foundational to helping its clinicians’ clients live longer, healthier lives. Biolytica and AWS Partner Presidio collaborated to create NEXUS, a platform built on AWS that integrates many sources of data that had never been combined in a single platform.

DentalXChange modernized its document processing workflows with the help of AWS Partner Quantiphi. As a provider of a revenue cycle management platform for dental offices, the company relied on optical character recognition (OCR) to extract information from American Dental Association (ADA) claims and statement forms, which often resulted in inaccuracies and inefficiencies. Using unique Amazon Services, DentalXChange and Quantiphi developed a new document processing solution driven by artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). DentalXChange can now extract data with over 98 percent accuracy while reducing the percentage of documents that require manual review from 40 percent to 1 percent.

PharmaOverseas is one of Egypt’s largest pharmaceutical distribution companies with 25.4 percent market share. It stores, distributes, and delivers over 11,000 drugs and other products from 544 suppliers to retailers, hospitals, and other government organizations across the country. Its on-premises systems were struggling to cope with heavy demand and continued growth of the business—100 percent in 2023. Long lead times for hardware (6 to 8 months) and the overhead of running procurement, deployment, and management led PharmaOverseas to work with AWS Partner Phoenix Consulting to manage its migration to the cloud. It is a major user of SAP on Amazon Web Services (AWS) with over 2,500 users generating 25,000 bills per day.

The Michigan Health Information Network Shared Services (MiHIN) is Michigan’s statewide health information exchange (HIE), securely connecting millions of Michigan residents to vital healthcare services. To enhance its capabilities, the organization partnered with AWS Partner Cloudticity to migrate its critical workloads to Amazon Web Services (AWS) and modernize its technology stack.

By deploying AWS services and implementing the Cloudticity Oxygen platform, MiHIN has dramatically transformed its operations. This powerful combination has enabled the organization to scale seamlessly, route information for over 13 million patients, eliminate system outages entirely, rapidly deploy new platforms in weeks rather than a year, and empower MiHIN and its customers to harness the power of AI for data-driven decision making.
