I want to add my organizations email domain to Amazon WorkMail. How can I do this?

You can add your email domain to WorkMail by using the AWS Management Console.

Add your domain, update the public DNS records, and then verify the domain in order to send and receive emails.

  1. Open the Amazon WorkMail console, choose your Organization, in the navigation pane choose Domains, and then choose Add domain.
  2. Enter your fully qualified domain name (FQDN) in the Domain name field, and then choose Add domain.
  3. Take note of the Hostname (for example, _amazonses.example.com) and the Value of your TXT record type.
  4. Follow the instructions at Adding a TXT Record to Your Domain's DNS Server.
  5. Follow the instructions at Publishing an MX Record for Amazon SES Email Receiving.
  6. Follow the instructions at Add a Domain to add a CNAME record for Autodiscovery.
  7. (Optional) Add the CNAME record for DKIM signing.
  8. From the WorkMail console, note that the Domain verification status indicates Pending verification. Choose Check verification. The domain verification status should now indicate verified.

Note: It might take up to 72 hours for DNS records to propagate to your domain host provider.
