I tried to access my AWS account or its resources, but I wasn't able to access them. Is AWS down?

If you're getting a browser or connection error (for example, a 404 error) when accessing an AWS Management Console, try the following:

  • Clear your browser's cache and cookies.
  • Use a different browser to access the AWS Management Console.
  • Check with your system administrator to verify if your network blocks amazon.com, aws.amazon.com, or its subdomains.
  • Check your AWS Personal Health Dashboard to see if you have any notifications from AWS if you're unable to reach a specific resource, such as a specific Amazon EC2 instance or Amazon RDS database. For example, an unreachable Amazon EC2 instance might currently be undergoing scheduled maintenance.
  • Check the AWS Service Health Dashboard if you're unable to reach an AWS service or console, such as the Amazon EC2 console. AWS services are regional, so be sure to select your region from the drop-down menu.
