How do I change the email address associated with my AWS account?

I want to change the email address that's associated with the root login of my account. How do I do that?


To update the email address associated with an AWS account in the Billing and Cost Management console, see Editing your account name, root user password, and root user email address.

When updating the email address, you can't use an email address that is already in use on another or AWS account.
Important: If your AWS account and retail account share the same login information, updating the email address on one of the accounts changes information on the other account.

You can change the root email address associated with an AWS account only when you sign in as the root user. If you sign in to an account as an IAM user, and you want to change your user name, contact your account administrator and ask them to follow the instructions at Renaming an IAM user.
