I signed up for an AWS Support plan, but I was charged more than the listed fee. Why?

The pricing for a Developer or Business Support plan is a flat fee or a percentage of your monthly AWS usage, whichever is higher. For more information, see AWS Support Plan Pricing.

Note that the upfront cost for any active Reserved Instances on your account is factored in to your first month's AWS usage calculation for Support, even if the Reserved Instances were purchased in a previous month.
