I'm trying to open a new AWS account. When I reach the phone verification step, I don't receive an SMS message or call from AWS. What should I do?

Verify the following:

  • You've entered your telephone number correctly, including your country code and telephone extension, if you have one.
  • If you're using a mobile phone, be sure that you have cellular signal to receive SMS messages or calls.
  • The information you entered for your payment method is correct.

If the verification process still doesn't work, AWS Support can help you manually verify your phone number:

  1. Be sure you've provided a telephone number where you can be reached in your account information.
  2. Create a case with AWS Support.
  3. In your case information, provide a date and time when you can be reached.

Note: You can create a case with AWS Support even if your account isn't yet activated.
