How do I use my Cost and Usage report to see how my Reserved Instances are applying to my bill?

First, be sure that you have an active Amazon S3 bucket for AWS to deliver the report to each day. If you don't have one, create a new S3 bucket, and be sure to set a bucket policy, so that only you and people you trust can access it.

Next, create a Cost and Usage report for your account. You can choose how line items in your report will be aggregated, where you want the report to be delivered, and if you want a specific path prefix to be appended to your report.

After AWS starts delivering the reports to your S3 bucket (usually within 24 hours), you can download the report from your S3 bucket. The Fee, RI Fee, and Discounted Usage line items describe Reserved Instance usage on your account. For more information on these line items, see Reserved Instances in the AWS Cost and Usage Report.
