Deepwatch

Deepwatch helps secure the digital economy by protecting enterprise networks, everywhere, every day. Deepwatch delivers a Cloud SecOps platform managed by a team of world-class security experts to provide award-winning managed detection and response (MDR), vulnerability management, and endpoint detection and response services to customers.

“Our strict security standards are at the core of what we do. AWS CDK allows our team to provision our most common infrastructure patterns faster and more efficiently, while seamlessly integrating with our CI/CD pipelines. After making the decision to leverage AWS CDK, we migrated a very complex backend infrastructure that was fully testable and reverse-engineered in less than two weeks—a 60% increase in efficiency. We will be migrating our whole IAC product suite to AWS CDK. Our goal is to be a development team that can rely on each other. CDK has greatly improved our ability to work faster and smarter as a team, supporting that goal."

Culture Amp

Culture Amp helps make companies a better place to work by making it easier to collect, understand, and act on employee feedback. Culture Amp decided to modernize their single-region monolithic application running on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) to a multi-region, microservices-based architecture primarily running on top of Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS) using AWS Fargate, Amazon DynamoDB, and Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS). They needed a way for engineers to consume pre-approved AWS architectures without the need to log in to restricted environments or have detailed knowledge of AWS and AWS CloudFormation. The Culture Amp team turned to AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) to automate the provisioning of AWS Fargate services with supporting databases and user roles in a shareable and repeatable fashion.

"Now our engineers can consume pre-approved AWS architecture that is feature-rich, including AWS Fargate services that include fine-grained deploy roles, load balancing, certificate validation, and autoscaling; AWS Lambda functions to forward logs; and a choice of Dynamo or RDS as a storage backend. We can now feasibly do in hours what used to take us up to six weeks.”

GoDaddy

With more than 21 million customers worldwide, GoDaddy is one of the world’s largest internet domain registrars and web-hosting companies. The organization oversees more than 6,800 employees, which include thousands of engineers and hundreds of development teams. As part of its migration to Amazon Web Services (AWS), GoDaddy has adopted several tools on AWS to support its developers, helping them build powerful customer solutions while meeting internal code and security requirements. To provide its developers with a faster and more agile way to provision common pieces of infrastructure, GoDaddy adopted AWS Cloud Development Kit (AWS CDK), a service that makes it simple to define cloud application resources using familiar programming languages. By switching to AWS CDK, GoDaddy empowers its teams to build powerful products quickly and efficiently while maintaining its security governance standards.

"Using AWS Cloud Development Kit, we can maintain high levels of security while moving more quickly and with more agility."

Damian Silbergleith Principal Engineer, GoDaddy
