New Features

Change Description

AWS Data Pipeline

AWS Data Pipeline is a web service that you can use to automate the movement and transformation of data. With AWS Data Pipeline, you can define data-driven workflows, so that tasks can be dependent on the successful completion of previous tasks. For example, you can use AWS Data Pipeline to archive your web server's logs to Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) each day and then run a weekly Amazon Elastic MapReduce (Amazon EMR) job flow over those logs to generate traffic reports.

For more information, see What is AWS Data Pipeline? and the API Reference.

Amazon Route 53

The AWS SDK for PHP now supports Amazon Route 53.

Amazon Route 53 is a highly available and scalable Domain Name System (DNS) web service. It is designed to give developers and businesses an extremely reliable and cost effective way to route end users to Internet applications by translating human readable names like www.example.com into the numeric IP addresses like 192.0.2.1 that computers use to connect to each other. Route 53 effectively connects user requests to infrastructure running in Amazon Web Services (AWS) — such as an Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instance, an Amazon Elastic Load Balancer, or an Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) bucket — and can also be used to route users to infrastructure outside of AWS.

General SDK Updates

  • Added a SaveAs parameter to the Amazon S3 GetObject operation to allow saving the object directly to a file.
  • Refactored iterators to remove code duplication and ease creation of future iterators.
