Penn State University built a learning analytics tool using data from its learning management system (LMS), Canvas—developed by AWS Partner Instructure—to provide real-time alerts about student engagement in a course. The tool, named Course Insights, uses Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) to process nearly 2 TB of raw learning activity data every day. The data is made available through Course Insights as a learning tools interoperability (LTI) feature embedded directly in Canvas. It helps instructors track student engagement, provide differentiated student care, and understand how they might improve course delivery and learning outcomes.
Supaja—a South Korea–based online tutoring platform—uses the AWS Partner Pagecall audio, video, and whiteboard solution to deliver virtual learning to students in 33 countries. Louisiana State University (LSU) is addressing its growing cybersecurity challenges with a public-private partnership that significantly improve the university’s security posture, equips students with hands-on cybersecurity experience, and creates a cost-effective model that can extend across the state’s university system. Working with TekStream Solutions, LSU created a student-run security operations center (SOC) that leverages TekStream’s expertise and managed detection and response (MDR) service developed on Splunk and running on AWS for unmatched agility, scalability, and elasticity.
Alabama State University (ASU) partnered with ERPA to modernize its technology infrastructure on AWS and update its enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, PeopleSoft, to transform the digital experience for ASU’s students and staff. ERPA overcame these challenges with a well-architected and high-availability infrastructure on AWS, leveraging Amazon EC2 for secure and resizable compute capacity, Amazon S3 and Amazon EBS for scalable storage, and Amazon RDS for secure and fully managed database services.
