Processing Checks Up to 80% Faster Using AWS Step Functions Distributed Map with Capital One

Capital One is now able to process checks up to 80% faster using AWS Step Functions Distributed Map, a visual workflow service for distributed applications. While most checks clear automatically, Capital One has a team of analysts who manually need to review checks with inconsistencies before the close of each business day. With Step Functions Distributed Map, Capital One can now launch 25 times the number of concurrent workflows for processing and identify checks needing manual review faster using parallel processing. Capital One went from planning to decision in 10 weeks, and adopted Step Functions Distributed Map in production with no major architecture changes or downtime.

Travelex Reduces Integration Costs by 70% Using AWS

Travelex started a digital transformation initiative to simplify and modernize its technology infrastructure. Travelex had built an extensive network of technology systems and used five separate extract, transform, load (ETL) solutions to integrate those systems, and faced challenges such as tight coupling, high licensing costs, and scalability issues. To build its modern solution, Travelex used Integration on AWS — a broad suite of purpose-built application, file, and data integration services provided by AWS. Travelex was now able to seamlessly connect its source applications, such as point-of-sale systems for its physical locations, to its destination applications—including Travelex compliance, fraud, finance, and marketing systems and partner software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions. As a result of using Integration on AWS services including AWS Lambda and Amazon API Gateway, Travelex was now able to reduce 70% in integration costs, 90% in operational costs, 40% in infrastructure overhead, and save £395,000 in third-party license fees.
