    Templatized data pipelining to accelerate data onboarding: Infosys adopts a design approach that relies on metadata-driven templates to enable data analysts to quickly stitch together data pipelines required for consumption. It provides a completely codeless interface for creating pipelines, enabling nontechnical users to build data pipelines
    Design once, run anywhere: Information Grid, with prefabricated templates and platform agnostic data processing libraries, has decoupled pipeline design and execution engine; in other words, Information Grid can be used with on-premises as well as the AWS Cloud
    Extreme automation and DevOps: Information Grid helps any functional user to auto-generate and provision data pipelines, data transformation logic, and infrastructure through its intuitive user interface and extreme automation capabilities
    ML-based services to build intelligent data pipelines: ML-based services for data mapping, data quality (DQ) rule mapping, data cleansing, and profiling
    Platform-agnostic: Information Grid is extensible and can operate with cross-platform technologies including Python, Shell, Java, Scala, and Rest API
    Customizable: Information Grid includes a solution codebase that is open for customization to the customer as per their individual need
    Lower TCO: Information Grid can bring up to 50% reduction in overall TCO compared to traditional ETL tools

    Infosys leverages proprietary Re-Imagine, Industrialize, Optimize (RIO) framework for customer deployments. This framework primarily consists of 3 phases: 

    This phase involves assessment of customer’s data and analytics landscape, needs, and business priorities followed by solution blueprinting for the future state involving architecture definition, tool evaluation, roadmap creation, use case identification, and business value articulation.

    This phase is primarily focused on laying the foundational capabilities required for realizing the blueprint created as part of the Reimagine phase. The primary activities involved in this phase include:
    • Deployment of the various technology components identified as part of the architecture blueprint including Infosys Information Grid (IIG)
    • Integrating IIG with the customer data and analytics landscape involving
    • Customizing IIG as per customer specific needs
    • Training and enablement
    • Pilot project support

    The optimize phase helps our customers to execute in a hyper-agile fashion, leveraging a lean organization. The primary activities involved in this phase include:
    • Implementation of agile DevOps processes around IIG pipelines
    • Automation of IIG operational tasks such as monitoring, failover, restart ability, and more

  • Key activities
  • 1) Set up metadata database

    Provision and set up Amazon RDS Aurora MySQL database which will be used as Information Grid metadata.

    2) Set up Information Grid libraries

    Set up Information Grid using automated deployment script on AWS Cloud.

    3) Set up scheduler

    Create Amazon MWAA with Amazon S3 bucket attached and configure as per Information Grid requirement.

    4) Configure source target connections

    Configure source and target data warehouse connection details in Information Grid user interface.

    5) Configure processing steps

    Configure processing steps for source and target mapping with join, filter, lookup, DQ rule, and aggregation.

    6) Configure processing flow

    Configure data flow, defining schedule and sequence of execution in Airflow through IIG user interface.

    7) Verify and check

    User can view execution history to check the status of ingestion job and also troubleshoot for error log.
