Q: Why should I track my service usage against quotas?
A: Tracking your usage against AWS Service quotas shows you whether you are approaching a given quota so that you can proactively request a service quota increase before you exceed a quota.
A: The cost for running this solution in your primary account (monitoring account) in US East (N. Virginia) depends on the number of accounts you are monitoring for quotas. Here’s a sample cost breakdown:
Small deployment: 10 accounts in 15 regions, the cost is $344 per month.
Medium deployment: 100 accounts in 15 regions, the cost is $1,935 per month.
Large deployment: 1000 accounts in 15 regions, the cost is $19,251 per month.
There are additional minimal costs for a hub stack and a spoke stack. For more information detailed costs estimates, including a breakdown of costs per AWS service, refer to the Cost scenarios in the Plan your deployment section of the Quota Monitor for AWS Implementation Guide.
