The AWS Enterprise Summit brings together the cloud computing community to connect, collaborate and learn about AWS. Our plenary sessions explore how to select projects for the cloud, how to improve economics, how to plan and execute migrations with hybrid architectures, and more. All sessions will be delivered by subject matter experts from AWS or expert customers who can share their real world experiences and lessons learnt.

 

Stephen Schmidt

Stephen Schmidt is Vice President & Chief Information Security Officer for Amazon Web Services (AWS). His duties at AWS include leading product design, management, and engineering development efforts focused on bringing the competitive, economic and security benefits of cloud computing to business and government customers.

Prior to joining AWS, Schmidt had an extensive career at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where he served as a senior executive. His responsibilities at the FBI included a term as acting Chief Technology Officer, Section Chief responsible for the FBI’s technical collection and analysis platforms, and as a Section Chief overseeing the FBI’s Cyber Division components responsible for the technical analysis of computer and network intrusion activities. His Cyber Division oversight included areas of malicious code analysis, computer exploitation tool reverse-engineering, and technical analysis of computer intrusions.

Mike Clayville leads the global sales, professional services and training teams for Amazon Web Services (AWS). In this role, as a member of the AWS senior leadership team, he is responsible for providing strategic direction in the go to market strategy for AWS and helps the company shape it’s customer engagement strategy globally.

Prior to joining AWS, Clayville held many senior leadership roles within global technology companies, including VMware, BEA Systems, Tivoli Systems and IBM, where he built multi-billion dollar customer-focused businesses in North America and Asia Pacific. He brings his more than 25 year of business development, marketing, and operations experience to his current role at AWS in order to help companies of all sizes around the world to move to the cloud.

Clayville has an MBA from Texas A&M University and is a graduate of the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.

Discover how customers have successfully deployed significant infrastructure and applications to AWS. This session will focus on tricks and tips for successful adoption and the benefits available.

Big Data and Business Insight

This is session is for anyone interested in migrating data warehouse applications to AWS with Amazon Redshift. The talk will focus on marketplace BI tools, plus Amazon Quicksight.

14:30 - 15:15

Migrating Enterprise Applications 

Hear best practices from customers that have moved existing Microsoft, SAP and Oracle applications to AWS. Presentations will include customer stories focusing on test and development workloads and those running mission-critical workloads in production on AWS. This session will cover both ‘lift and shift’ projects, and systems that have been fully re-architected in the AWS Cloud to maximise cost efficiency and agility.
