Teresa Carlson is the Vice President, AWS Worldwide Public Sector, and she is one of the most accomplished and forward-thinking technology leaders in the world today. Through her charismatic leadership, Carlson has helped change mindsets of both individuals and organizations around the world, modernize policies at all levels of government, and cultivate a 21st century global workforce equipped with the skillset necessary to leverage the full potential of the cloud to drive innovation.
Carlson founded the AWS Worldwide Public Sector in 2010. Today, tens of thousands of government agencies, education institutions, and nonprofit organizations around the world use AWS. Additionally, Carlson advises Amazon Public Policy on global policy issues.
Prior to joining AWS, Carlson served as Vice President of Microsoft Federal Government, where she oversaw the company’s US Federal Government business.
Carlson earned her undergraduate and Masters of Science degrees in Communications and Speech and Language Pathology from Western Kentucky University.
RAHUL SHARMA, COUNTRY DIRECTOR, WORLDWIDE PUBLIC SECTOR, AMAZON INTERNET SERVICES PRIVATE LIMITED
Rahul Sharma is the Country Director of India and South Asia for Worldwide Public Sector, Amazon Internet Services Pvt Ltd. Rahul leads the public sector team to help government agencies, public sector undertakings, education institutions, healthcare, and nonprofit organizations, adopt AWS Cloud services.
The public sector team is focused on working with organizations and the AWS Partner Network in leveraging cloud technology to positively impact the life of citizens through skilling, healthcare, livelihood, and inclusion.
Rahul has almost 25 years of experience of successfully running technology and consulting businesses across India and the Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining Amazon, Rahul spent more than two decades at IBM’s Global Business Services division in various leadership roles in India and Asia Pacific.
KUNAL KUMAR, JOINT SECRETARY & MISSION DIRECTOR, SMART CITIES MISSION, MINISTRY OF HOUSING & URBAN AFFAIRS
Kunal Kumar, IAS, presently holds the position of Joint Secretary and Mission Director (Smart Cities Mission) of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for the Government of India since May 2018. Earlier, he was Municipal Commissioner at Pune Municipal Corporation, Maharashtra for close to four years. He has been working in the State of Maharashtra since 1999 and served across various cities of Maharashtra. Mr. Kumar worked as District Collector in three districts of Bhandara, Jalgaon, and Aurangabad, and he also worked as Municipal Commissioner for Kolhapur Municipal Corporation.
He is an Electrical Engineering graduate from IIT Roorkee, and he successfully completed his Masters in Public Management from National University of Singapore jointly conducted with Harvard Kennedy School, USA. He presented various papers on e-Governance, which received awards and citations like the best e-governed district award for Jalgaon district nationally, the certificate of appreciation for being a finalist in Manthan Award, South Asia, 2009. Moreover, he was awarded by the Prime Minister of India for excellence in AADHAR Governance during his stint as District Collector of Aurangabad.
MS. VANDANA BHATNAGAR, CHIEF PROGRAM OFFICER, NATIONAL SKILL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (INDIA)
Ms. Vandana Bhatnagar is the Chief Program Officer at the National Skill Development Corporation (India). She is responsible for managing NSDC's funding portfolio and strategy for the skill development sector. She also leads NSDC's teams working on occupational standards, learning resources, industry connect, monitoring, and market analytics. Vandana has over 27 years of professional experience spread across the financial and development sectors. She has worked with Standard Chartered Bank, the World Bank, IDFC, and TERI. Prior to joining NSDC, Vandana worked at the World Bank as Senior Institutional Development Specialist in the Water Global Practice, where she led several sector strategy and policy level engagements at the national, state, and local levels. She is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Management (Calcutta) and St. Stephens College in Delhi University.
MR. RISHIKESH PATANKAR, VICE PRESIDENT, CSC E-GOVERNANCE SERVICES INDIA LIMITED, AND CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER, CSC ACADEMY
Mr. Rishikesh Patankar has more than 20 years of experience in ICT domain including stints at the National R&D lab, top universities abroad, and the Indian Navy. He holds three master degrees in IT and NET qualified. He has published various research papers. He is working as Vice President in CSC eGovernance Services India Limited, a SPV under Ministry of Electronics and IT, and also COO of CSC Academy.
