Q: Who should attend AWS Summits?
Whether you are new to the cloud or an experienced user, you will learn something new at an AWS Summit. These events, held around the world, are designed to educate new customers about the AWS platform and offer existing customers deep technical content to be more successful with AWS.

All AWS Summits feature a keynote address highlighting the latest announcements and customer testimonials, technical sessions led by AWS engineers, and hands-on technical training. You will learn best practices for deploying applications on AWS, optimizing performance, monitoring cloud resources, managing security, cutting costs, and more. You will also have opportunities to meet AWS staff and partners to get your technical questions answered.

Q: How do I register?
Registration for the AWS Summit will open on March 1, 2017. Click "Register Now" above to start the registration process. Space is limited so reserve your free seat today.

Q: What is included in Summit registration?
Summit registration gives you access to the keynote, over 50 breakout sessions, workshops, demos, The HUB and receptions. You can also add technical bootcamps to your registration. Meals offered include continental breakfast and boxed lunch.

Q: What is the price of registration?

While Summit registration is free, technical bootcamps cost $600.00 USD. Click "Bootcamps" in the navigation above for technical bootcamp details.

Q: How can I sign up for a technical bootcamp if I am already registered?
If you are already registered for the AWS Summit and would like to sign up for a technical bootcamp, return to your Summit account, select “Already Registered?” and enter your account information created during registration. On the following page select “Modify” to add a bootcamp. You will need a valid credit card to complete your registration.

Q: Can I get a receipt of my registration?
Upon completing the online registration process, you will be emailed a confirmation email with bootcamp payment details from awssummits@cvent.com. Please check your junk mail folder. If you do not receive the confirmation email contact us for a copy at AWS-Summit-Support@amazon.com

Q: How do I update my registration information?
To view or make changes to your registration details, return to your Summit account, select “Already Registered?” and enter your account information created during registration. On the following page select “Modify.”

Q: What is your cancellation policy?
You may cancel your Summit or Bootcamp registration at any time by logging into your Summit account.

Q: Will I need to register myself for each breakout session?
Onsite at the Summit, sessions will be filled on a first-come first-seated basis. As seats are not guaranteed there is no need to pre-register. However, we recommend taking advantage of the scheduling tools on AWS Summit mobile app to help organize your day. The app will be available approximately two weeks prior to the Summit.

Q: What accessibility accommodations are available?
The AWS Summit – San Francisco venue, Moscone West, has been designed to make everyone’s visit as productive and comfortable as possible. Read more about the facility’s accessibility here. If you need additional assistance or have accommodation requests, please email AWS-Summit-Support@amazon.com at least one week prior to the event. Every effort will be made to provide reasonable accommodations.

Q: What special dietary requirements are accommodated?
Vegetarian and limited gluten free options are available and labelled at breakfast and lunch. Below are some food vendors near Moscone West offering Kosher, Halal, and vegan meal options:

  • Halal and Kosher: Oasis Grill (200 ft), Halal Cart (0.7 miles), Halal Guys (0.5 miles) and Halal Wings Plus (0.7 miles)
  • Vegan: Loving Hut Vegan Restaurant (0.3 miles; 6 min walk) and sweetgreen (0.4 miles; 8 min walk)

Q: What information will be shared with sponsors?
We will not share your contact information with sponsors. However, if you scan your badge at an exhibitor booth or a sponsored breakout session, you are opting into communications from that sponsor. Upon scanning, sponsors will obtain your contact information and may follow up with you. If you would prefer to be reached at your work email rather than your personal, please edit your registration information accordingly.

Q: Do you accept submissions for speakers/session ideas?
At this time, we do not accept submissions for Summit speakers or session content although we always appreciate customer feedback.

Q: What is the AWS Summit Code of Conduct?
AWS expects all Summit participants (attendees, staff, speakers, sponsors, etc.) to behave in such a way as to create a safe, supportive learning environment while at the conference and any conference-related events. AWS will not tolerate any form of harassment or offensive speech or behavior, including relating to race, gender, sexual orientation, religion or disability. Participants engaging in behavior deemed by AWS as discriminatory or offensive will be asked to leave the conference or related event immediately. Anyone witnessing such behavior is encouraged to contact an AWS staff member so direct action can be taken.

Q: Will a livestream be available?

Yes, registration for the Keynote livestream will open at the end of March.

Q: What are the livestream technical requirements?

To view the live stream on your desktop or laptop computer, you will need to have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player installed. Supported desktop/laptop browsers include IE9+, Safari 6+, Chrome 38+ , and Firefox 32+/ESR 31+. To view the live stream on your mobile device, you will need Chrome Browser running on Android 4.4+, or Mobile Safari running on iOS 8+. The live stream is designed to adapt to your connection speed automatically, but we recommend at least downstream connection speed of at least 700Kbps. Viewers can manually select a higher (up to 2.5Mbps for HD) or lower (198Kbps for low) video quality on the player depending on the connection speed.

Q. Where should I stay?

We are able to offer a discounted rate of $269 per night at the InterContinental San Francisco. Space and rates are subject to the hotel’s availability. If you are unable to book in the block there are numerous hotels to choose from near the Moscone Center.
