Peter Moore heads the Worldwide Public Sector business for Japan and the Asia-Pacific region. He is responsible for strategy, sales, and business development for Amazon Web Services, with a focus on cloud computing. Moore came to AWS from Microsoft, where he worked for 16 years in various executive management positions in Australia, Singapore, and Beijing. This included establishing and managing the public sector operation for Asia Pacific, growing the business in Greater China, and serving as Chief Technology Officer for Microsoft Asia. His experience centered on reforming technology and procurement policies for Asian governments, as well as technology’s role in accelerating economic development.


Mary-Ryland

Mark Ryland is the technology leader for the AWS Worldwide Public Sector team. He leads a team of solutions architects and professional services engineers who provide AWS technical evangelism, architectural guidance, knowledge transfer, and cloud implementation services to government, education, and nonprofit customers around the globe. Ryland is an expert in distributed systems, networking, cyber security, and identity and access management. He also serves as a key interface between the public sector team and the engineering, security, and compliance teams at AWS, ensuring that public sector customer requirements are at the forefront of service team plans and roadmaps.

Mark Schwartz is an enterprise strategist at AWS, helping the largest enterprises in the world transform their people, processes, and technology by moving to the cloud. Before joining AWS, Schwartz served in the U.S. federal government as the CIO of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, where he led a DevOps/cloud transformation. In that role, he became known as a change agent who could inspire innovation within the constraints and challenges of a government environment. Schwartz has also held various positions in the private sector – as the CIO of a mid-size company with global operations and as the CEO of a software startup. He remains active in the Silicon Valley startup community and is the author of The Art of Business Value and A Seat at the Table: IT Leadership in the Age of Agility.


Eng_Pheng

Tan Eng Pheng is currently a member of the senior leadership team at GovTech Singapore, responsible for driving technology-enabled transformation within the public sector. He manages more than 1,000 officers that comprise the CIO teams situated across 57 public sector agencies. His past portfolio in the then-Infocomm Development Agency, GovTech’s predecessor agency, included leading a number of iN2015 initiatives in verticals spanning trade and logistics, finance, tourism, education, and healthcare. Recently, Tan has led internal capability development efforts to upskill his CIO teams so that they can formulate and drive various agencies’ digitalisation initiatives.


Ng_Siau_Yong

Ng Siau Yong is the director of the GeoSpatial and Data Division at the Singapore Land Authority, where he is responsible for driving and establishing the country’s collaborative geospatial environment.  Ng oversees the formulation, design, and management of the policy and programme for geospatial information governance, infrastructure and technology development, capacity building, and the use of geospatial systems in data analytics. He influenced the formation of various geospatial initiatives, such as OneMap, the Singapore government’s geospatial information and services portal that won international accolades. He is currently driving the development of Virtual Singapore, the multi-agency-based 3D geospatial data, operating, analytics, and research platform, together with National Research Foundation and Government Technology Agency of Singapore, under the Singapore’s Smart Nation Programme. Ng is also leading the setup of Singapore’s Geospatial Centre of Excellence.


Swaine_chen

Swaine Chen is an assistant professor at the National University of Singapore and a senior research scientist at the Genome Institute of Singapore. His lab specializes in elucidating molecular mechanisms of bacterial infections, using both bacterial genetics and computational genomics approaches. Chen has a broad scientific background in mathematics, physics, medicine, and biology, and has experience in melding these different disciplines into his work. Examples include the application of linear algebra techniques to understand codon usage and to recalibrate next-generation sequencing data. Recently, he’s been focusing on developing higher level automation for application in rapid analysis of bacterial genomes, particularly for urgent outbreak investigations.
