Q: What is the difference between the two days?

Builders Day - Wednesday, 10 April
This event is for technical builders who want to dive deep into architecture and code and get hands-on with AWS technology. You could be a developer, engineer, solutions architect, or an IT professional. Whatever your job title, you have a passion for building!

Innovation Day - Thursday, 11 April
This event is for people and businesses who want to explore how technology can be used to drive change and accelerate innovation. Whatever your job, what you have in common is an ambition to use technology to accelerate innovation for good.
 

Q: Where is AWS Summit Sydney taking place?
AWS Summit Sydney will be held in Halls 1-4 at the International Convention & Exhibition Centre Sydney (ICC). Click here to see the map location. If you would like further information on how to get to the venue, please see the How do I get to the venue? question further below.
 

Q: What is the price of registration?
Event registration is free of charge.
 

Q: What is included in the event registration?
AWS Summit Sydney will feature presentations with global and local AWS and customer stories, and over 100 sessions led by AWS experts, customers, and partners. On the expo floor you can get hands-on with technology and have your technical questions answered by the AWS team and partners. Meals offered include morning tea, lunch, and refreshments.

Q: How can I justify my attendance to AWS Summit Sydney to my manager?
There are many compelling reasons for attending AWS Summit Sydney this year. We have made it easy for you to encourage your manager with our Justify your trip template.
 

Q: Can I get a confirmation of my AWS Summit Sydney registration?
Upon completing the registration form, you will receive an email confirming your registration. Please check your junk mail folder if you do not receive this within 24 hours of registering.

You will also be provided with a "know before you go" email approximately one day prior to the event. This will contain a QR code which you will be required to present on arrival. Your unique barcode will also be sent to your mobile number on the morning of the event so please make sure to double check your details when completing your registration.

Contact us  if you have not received your confirmation after 24hrs and the team will assist you to confirm your registration.
 

Q: Do I need to bring photo ID?
Yes, you will be required to show valid photo identification upon arrival to collect your badge for AWS Summit Sydney.
 

Q: Can I sign up for sessions I want to attend?
You will be able to build your own agenda via the event app to assist you in planning your event experience. This does not guarantee you a seat for the session as rooms will be filled on a first come, first seated basis. The event app will be released 2 weeks prior to the event, and information shared in reminder emails to those who have registered to AWS Summit Sydney.
 

Q. What should I bring to attend a Workshop session?
You will be required to bring your own laptop for these hands-on sessions.
 

Q: Will the sessions be shared after the event?
Recordings of the keynotes, AWS, and partner sessions will be available ‘on-demand’. You will receive an email with a link to watch the recorded sessions when they become available post event.
 

Q: Do you offer meals for those with dietary requirements?
We aim to cater for a variety of dietary requirements; however, we cannot guarantee this will cover specific or individual requests. If you have specific dietary needs or if you are looking for a wider variety of options, we recommend that you bring your own meals with you or take advantage of the many restaurants and cafes in the area.
 

Q: What accessibility accommodations are available?
The event venue, the International Convention & Exhibition Centre Sydney, has been designed to make everyone’s visit a fully accessible and inclusive event experience. Read more about the venue’s accessibility

The breakout sessions during the event will require the use of in-ear headphones—these are provided at the event. However, you are welcome to bring your own AUX cable headphones instead. If you require additional assistance with any specific mobility, vision, hearing, or other kinds of assistance please email us at least two weeks prior to the event.
 

Q: Are people under the age of 18 years old allowed to attend AWS Summit Sydney?
Attendees must be 18 years of age or over on the first day of the event.
 

Q: How can I support AWS Summit Sydney in being an environmentally sustainable event?
We encourage attendees to bring their own own auxillary input headphones for breakout sessions. We also encourage attendees to bring a water bottle onsite to the event, and fill-up at dedicated water stations throughout. We also ask that you follow the designated disposal signs throughout the event to properly sort any waste.

Q: How do I get to the venue?
AWS Summit will take place at the International Convention & Exhibition Centre Sydney (ICC), located in Sydney's Darling Harbour (view map).

  • Event registration - ICC Exhibition Centre, Level 2
  • Exhibition and Breakouts - ICC Exhibition Centre, Halls 1-4, Level 1
  • Keynote and Super Sessions - ICC Theatre

Directions to ICC are as follows:

  • Train
    A short walk from Central or Town Hall will take you directly to Darling Quarter, Tumbalong Park and Sydney Visitor Centre. Town Hall and Central Stations are a 10-minute walk from ICC Sydney.
  • Light rail
    The light rail travels right through a number of Darling Harbour stations including ICC Sydney’s stops, Convention Centre, and Exhibition Centre. The light rail starts at Central Station in the CBD and travels to Dulwich Hill in the Inner West.
  • Bus
    ICC Sydney has its own bus stop. Bus routes 389 and 501 stop at Harris Street near Allen Street—a 10-minute walk from ICC Sydney.
  • Taxi
    The best taxi and Uber drop off and pick up locations include the new Iron Wharf Place next to Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour and Zollner Circuit on the Southern end of Aware Super Theatre, both accessed via Darling Drive.
  • Walking
    Routes to ICC Sydney include from Central Station. See the ICC link for directions.
  • Cycling
    Bike racks are available in Exhibition Car Park 1 including shower and change room facilities. Personal locks are required. Find your Sydney cycling route here.
  • Parking
    ICC Sydney has two car parks located within the venue. There are a number of secure car parks located in and around Darling Harbour—the closest is located at Harbourside Car Park, 100 Murray Street, Pyrmont.
