Massive Memory Refactor introduced in Lumberyard 1.16 – Available Now

We’re excited to announce the availability of Lumberyard Beta 1.16. With over 250 improvements, fixes, and features, this release includes:

  • A significant architectural update to the memory management system, helping developers reduce memory fragmentation and footprint by up to 40%
  • Dozens of improvements to the animation and cinematics systems, including the ability to drive animations directly from Track View
  • Reduction of Gridmate's network traffic bandwidth requirements by 300%
  • Texture streaming support for mobile devices
  • Support for Visual Studio 2017 version 15.8.6
