Posted on: Jun 11, 2019

AWS DataSync is now available in the AWS GovCloud (US-West) Region. DataSync is an online data transfer service that simplifies, automates, and accelerates copying data between NFS file servers, Amazon S3 buckets, and Amazon EFS file systems.

DataSync is capable of achieving speeds of up to 10x faster than open source tools, using a purpose-built network protocol with built-in encryption and end-to-end data validation. The AWS GovCloud (US) Regions are designed to host sensitive data and regulated workloads in the cloud if you have U.S. federal, state, and local government compliance requirements. With this latest release you can now use DataSync to securely copy sensitive data between your sites and the AWS GovCloud (US-West) Region.

AWS DataSync is now available in US East (Northern Virginia and Ohio), US West (Northern California and Oregon), AWS GovCloud (US-West), Europe (Ireland and Frankfurt), and Asia Pacific (Singapore, Tokyo, Sydney, and Seoul) regions. You can learn more about AWS DataSync on the product page and about the AWS GovCloud (US) Regions here
