AWS announces Amazon Managed Service for Grafana in Preview

Posted on: Dec 15, 2020

Amazon Managed Service for Grafana is a fully managed and secure data visualization service that enables customers to instantly query, correlate, and visualize operational metrics, logs, and traces for their applications from multiple data sources. Developed in partnership with Grafana Labs, Amazon Managed Service for Grafana manages the provisioning, setup, scaling, and maintenance of Grafana servers, eliminating the need for customers to do this themselves. Customers also benefit from built-in security features that enable compliance with governance requirements, including integration with AWS Single Sign-On, data access control, and audit reporting via AWS CloudTrail.

Customers can use the instrumentation, data collection, and storage tools of their choice, while using Amazon Managed Service for Grafana to centralize, correlate, and layer operational and business data into a single, consolidated view. Builders and developers can track their application logs alongside an operator’s infrastructure health metrics, as well as business metrics for key stakeholders, all displayed in a single dashboard. Amazon Managed Service for Grafana assists in discovering your AWS accounts and resources and securely connects to multiple AWS Services such as Amazon Managed Service for Prometheus, Amazon CloudWatch, AWS IoT SiteWise, AWS X-Ray, Amazon Timestream, Amazon Elasticsearch Service, and Amazon Aurora PostgresSQL. Amazon Managed Service for Grafana also supports popular third-party and open source projects such as InfluxDB and Graphite. With Amazon Managed Service for Grafana, customers can query their Prometheus metrics for monitoring container applications running on Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service, Amazon Elastic Container Service, and self-managed Kubernetes running on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud, as well as monitor IOT devices, and correlate metrics, logs, and traces for operational troubleshooting. With the in-console upgrade to Grafana Enterprise, customers can also connect to a wide variety of third-party partner sources such as Datadog, MongoDB, New Relic, Splunk, and ServiceNow as well as access training and consultation support directly from Grafana Labs.

Amazon Managed Service for Grafana is available in preview in the following regions: US East (N. Virginia) and Europe (Ireland). See the product overview page for more information and to request access.
