I would like to transfer ownership of an Amazon Redshift cluster from one AWS account to another. How can I do this?

AWS Support does not have access to copy Amazon Redshift resources or manipulate any configuration options in AWS accounts. You can't separate an AWS account from an Amazon.com account or transfer resources between AWS accounts. It is possible to manually migrate an Amazon Redshift cluster to another AWS account by completing the steps described here.

To manually migrate an Amazon Redshift cluster to another AWS account, follow these steps:

  1. Create a manual snapshot of the cluster you want to migrate. For detailed instructions, see Creating a Manual Snapshot.
  2. Manage snapshot access to authorize another AWS account to view and restore the snapshot. For detailed instructions, see Sharing a Cluster Snapshot.
  3. If you need to copy a snapshot to another region, you must first enable cross-region snapshots. For detailed instructions, see Configuring Cross-Region Snapshot Copy.
  4. In the destination AWS account, restore the shared snapshot from the Snapshots page of the Amazon Redshift console. For detailed instructions, see Restoring a Cluster from a Snapshot.
