BlueJeans by Verizon Supports Five-Fold Increase in Daily Active Users Using Amazon EKS

2021

BlueJeans by Verizon is a video conferencing meetings platform for better remote work productivity. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company needed to support its customers' rapid transition to remote working. Leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS), BlueJeans at Verizon was able to connect five times more daily average users at peak usage. "One of the key benefits we got from AWS was by introducing and moving to a container-based system and Kubernetes by using Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS)," says Behruz Nassre, vice president of operations and security at BlueJeans by Verizon. "This allowed us to not worry about the management of the core at Kubernetes and focus more on making sure our application can behave well and run effectively inside containers."
