Getting started with AWS Backup

Back up your AWS resources with AWS Backup

AWS Backup makes it easy to centrally configure backup policies and monitor backup activity for AWS resources, such as Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) instances, Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS) volumes, Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) databases, Amazon DynamoDB tables, Amazon Elastic File System (EFS) file systems, Amazon FSx file systems, and AWS Storage Gateway volumes.

1

Get started with AWS Backup

To get started with AWS Backup, watch the introduction video, sign in to your AWS account, and launch the AWS Backup console

2

Create a backup plan

A backup plan defines parameters such as how frequently to back up your resources and how long to store those backups

3

Assign AWS resources

Assign resources to backup plans and AWS Backup will start automatically backing up these resources and managing backup retention on your behalf

4

Monitor, modify, restore

Once resources are backed up, you can monitor, modify, or restore your backups as needed
