What do you like best about the product?

I use Datadog as our primary platform for log management, infrastructure monitoring, and application performance monitoring. I like its overall user interface, smooth navigation, and how seamlessly it handles central log management.

What do you dislike about the product?

I find it annoying that Datadog automatically converts all metric and span tags into lowercase. This can be a hassle when we have existing tags or custom metadata from other sources using camel case or uppercase.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Datadog solves fragmented log management and disconnected system monitoring, making troubleshooting faster and more straightforward.

What do you like best about the product?

I rely on Datadog every single day in our engineering and technical operations team to maintain clear visibility across all our services, active endpoints, and background applications.

What do you dislike about the product?

What I dislike most about Datadog is that the default dashboards for services and specific API endpoints could be much better structured. Additionally, the user interface feels a bit confusing and cluttered.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Datadog solves the lack of visibility into complex applications and distributed service endpoints. It provides deep log visibility, metric tracking, and trace management, making diagnosing issues incredibly fast.

What do you like best about the product?

It’s really helpful when we have a slow application or an issue that’s hard to track down. I can quickly see which service or request is causing the problem instead of going through different logs manually. It makes troubleshooting a lot quicker, especially when we’re dealing with issues across multiple services.

What do you dislike about the product?

One limitation I’ve noticed with Datadog is the pricing around log ingestion. If you have a lot of logs coming in, the costs can add up pretty quickly, especially in a larger environment. We have to be selective about what we send to Datadog and keep an eye on usage so the bill doesn’t grow unexpectedly.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Datadog mainly helps us avoid spending too much time trying to figure out where an issue is coming from. We can monitor our applications, infrastructure, and logs in one place, which makes it easier to spot problems and troubleshoot them. The alerts are also useful because we can know about an issue before users start reporting it. For me, the biggest benefit is that the team can respond faster and spend less time jumping between different monitoring tools.

What do you like best about the product?

I really value Datadog's real-time alerting and its extensive cloud integration ecosystem. It's impressive how easy it is to onboard new engineering teams and connect cloud providers, infrastructure components, and microservices.

What do you dislike about the product?

One thing I find challenging with Datadog is that even though it excels at generating deep diagnostic data and telemetry, it still requires significant human effort to interpret that data and determine concrete actions.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Datadog solves fragmented system supervision and delayed incident detection, giving us centralized observability. Its real-time alerting and integrations help manage our distributed systems effectively.

What do you like best about the product?

I rely on Datadog as our primary single pane of glass observability and platform management tool. I find the deep automated correlation between metrics, logs, and APM traces, along with its service mapping capabilities, to be the most valuable aspects.

What do you dislike about the product?

The main challenge I face with Datadog is cost management and governance at the enterprise scale.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Datadog fills visibility gaps and simplifies complex troubleshooting workflows in multi-team environments by automatically correlating metrics, logs, and APM traces.

What do you like best about the product?

The trace views are invaluable when there's an outage. We've got the agent running on the nodes on our Kubernetes environment, and immediately had access to all pod metrics, latency traces etc. I even identified a bottleneck with one of our databases during my last on-call shift in a matter of minutes.

What do you dislike about the product?

Hearing about pricing of log ingestion with a startle you out of nowhere It's possible a service may leave debug logging enabled unintentionally and the next morning your bill is astronomically higher. We spend way too much time writing log exclusion rules just to keep ourselves within our team budget.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

It combined our entire metrics and app traces into one dashboard and we no longer have to switch back and forth between a bunch of random open source tools. It reduced the time it took to triage issues and enabled us to get in touch with ops faster whenever something was down.

What do you like best about the product?

I really like how simple and clean the integration process with Datadog is. Managing our monitoring configuration through infrastructure as code using Terraform is a standout capability for me.

What do you dislike about the product?

My main criticism lies in Datadog's built-in anomaly detection and warning alert capabilities. While the overall experience is positive, this aspect seems less effective and could be improved.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Datadog simplifies managing and diagnosing issues across systems, providing control over visualizing operational health with custom dashboards, and integrates efficiently with Terraform for monitoring configuration.

What do you like best about the product?

I like Datadog for its ease of platform integration and the library of predefined dashboards that are incredibly useful.

My main complaints with Datadog are its high, rigid pricing structure and the limitations of their customer support workflow.

Datadog eliminates manual server checks and error guessing, reducing human overhead.

What do you like best about the product?

I rely on Datadog as my primary all-in-one observability platform every single day. Out of all the modules built into the platform, I find the APM distributed tracing combined with the log explorer to be the most invaluable feature set for my daily workflow.

What do you dislike about the product?

My biggest frustration with Datadog comes down to its pricing model and how fast ingestion costs can spiral completely out of control if you aren't hypervigilant.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Datadog eliminates guesswork during production incidents and saves time by allowing trace of user requests across microservices seamlessly.

What do you like best about the product?

It is an all-in-one Observability tool which is a combination of infrastructure metrics, application logs, application performance monitoring, real user monitoring, and security monitoring. It has very good integrations with almost all cloud providers. The User Interface is very user-friendly.

What do you dislike about the product?

It's very costly. Sending application logs to Datadog can lead to unpredictable costs. Providing add-on features is a very complex task. It's difficult to learn for new users.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Despite the cost, I love this tool. It helps in identifying real-time issues very quickly. We can easily identify slowness using APM metrics or which API is taking more time. Identifying 5xx errors becomes very easy using this tool.
