We are excited to announce that Amazon Glacier is now available in the Asia Pacific (Sydney) Region.
Amazon Glacier is an extremely low-cost storage service that provides secure and durable storage for data archiving and backup. It is designed for data that is infrequently accessed yet still important to retain, and for which retrieval times of several hours are suitable. Customers in Asia Pacific (Sydney) can now use Amazon Glacier to reliably and durably store large or small amounts of data for US$0.012 per gigabyte per month, with no up-front expenses or long-term commitments. Amazon S3 customers whose data resides in Asia Pacific (Sydney) can use the Amazon Glacier storage class for Amazon S3 to setup rules to automatically archive infrequently accessed objects to Amazon Glacier at the same low rates.
In addition to the Asia Pacific (Sydney) Region, Amazon Glacier and Amazon Glacier storage class for Amazon S3 are currently available in the US-East (N. Virginia), US-West (N. California), US-West (Oregon), EU-West (Ireland), and Asia Pacific (Japan) Regions. To learn more, please visit the Amazon Glacier detail page and Amazon S3 Object Archival guide.
