Why am I unable to mount my EFS file system on my EC2 instance?
Last updated: 2021-04-02
I'm unable to mount my Amazon Elastic File System (Amazon EFS) file system on my Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instance.
Note: If you receive errors when running the AWS Command Line Interface (AWS CLI) commands, make sure that you’re using the most recent AWS CLI version.
There are multiple reasons you might not be able to mount your file system on your EC2 instance. For a list of possible mount issues and resolutions, see Troubleshooting mount issues.
You can also follow the steps in the AWSSupport-CheckAndMountEFS AWS Systems Manager Automation document to check if the instance meets the prerequisites to mount the EFS on the EC2 instance. To run this automation, follow the instructions in Running a simple automation.
