How do I transfer my account to another person or business?

I want to transfer the ownership of my AWS account and all its associated resources to another party—what’s the best way to do that?


To transfer ownership of an account, you must have the email address and password for the AWS account root user of your account.

To transfer root access of your AWS account and change all other account and billing information on that account to that of another entity, change the email address and the password associated with the account.

To assign ownership of the account and its resources to another party or organization, contact AWS Support for help:

  1. Open the AWS Support Center.
  2. Choose Create case.
  3. Enter the details of your case:
    Choose Account and billing support.
    For Type, choose Account.
    For Category, choose Ownership Transfer.
    For all other fields, enter the details for your case.
  4. Choose a contact method.
  5. Choose Submit.

AWS Support will contact you and help you transfer your account.
