Amazon CloudWatch agent now supports macOS on Amazon EC2 Mac instances and on-premises hosts. Mac instances are the first EC2 instance type to support macOS operating system from Apple. CloudWatch collects monitoring and operational data that provides you with a unified view of data across AWS resources, applications, and services. With this launch, developers and operators can now use the CloudWatch agent to monitor macOS workloads that run on AWS and on-premises hosts.
Using CloudWatch agent for macOS, you can collect monitoring and operational data in the form of metrics and logs. You can also use CloudWatch to detect anomalous behavior in your environments, set alarms, visualize metrics on custom dashboards, take automated actions, troubleshoot issues, and discover insights to keep your applications running smoothly.
Amazon EC2 Mac instances are available in US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), EU (Ireland), US East (Ohio), and Asia Pacific (Singapore) regions. The CloudWatch agent for macOS is available in all regions where CloudWatch agent is available.
Get started with the CloudWatch Agent for macOS by downloading directly from the AWS Systems Manager, and AWS Command Line Interface.
