We are pleased to announce Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) support for Amazon RDS for SQL Server. You can now use TDE to encrypt your SQL Server data and log files, thus allowing you to protect your data "at rest". TDE support is available for Amazon RDS for SQL Server Enterprise Edition (Bring-your-own-license) in all AWS regions.
With the addition of TDE support, you can now secure your data both "at rest" and "in transit" via SSL. TDE and SSL, combined with Amazon VPC, provide you with a comprehensive approach to protecting your data.
