Most functionality

In addition to having the greatest breadth of services, AWS also has the deepest functionality within those services. For example, Amazon EC2 offers more types and sizes of compute instances than any other provider, including the most powerful GPU instances for machine learning workloads. AWS also has more than double the number of database services than anyone else, with eleven relational and non-relational database offerings. And, AWS has the most ways to run containers, with Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS), Amazon Elastic Container Service for Kubernetes (EKS), and AWS Fargate.

AWS Regions each have multiple AZs that are physically separated and isolated from each other, and are connected by low latency, high throughput, and highly redundant networking. These AZs offer you an easier and more effective way to design and operate applications and databases, making them more highly available, fault tolerant, and scalable than traditional single datacenter or multi-datacenter infrastructures.

The AWS Region/AZ model has been recognized by Gartner as the recommended approach for running enterprise applications that require high availability.
