We’re excited to announce the AWS Pop-up Loft, a temporary space in downtown San Francisco where startups can drop in, hang out, and receive free in-person AWS technical guidance from our technical experts including AWS Solution Architects and AWS Support. Our doors are open June 4th-27th. Make an appointment to reserve 1:1 time with an AWS technical expert or drop in with availability on a first-come, first-served basis. Take free self-paced Hands-on Labs, attend technical sessions and bootcamps, and mingle with the AWS Activate startup community during evening networking events. We’ll have snacks, drinks, and a bike rack to park your pedals.

  • ‘Ask an Architect.’ AWS customer, AWS Activate members, startups, and developers can book a 1:1 appointment with an AWS technical expert or simply drop in to get guidance on architectures, usage of services and features, cost optimization, and any AWS technical questions.
  • Free Technical Training. AWS Technical Bootcamps are one-day training sessions which include hands-on lab exercises using a live environment with the AWS console. These trainings will be led by experienced AWS Instructors and Solution Architects on Saturdays from 10AM-6PM. Usually $600 each, we are offering 3 Technical Bootcamps for free at The Loft at the beginner level (“Getting Started with AWS - Technical"), intermediate level ("Store, Manage and Analyze Big Data in the Cloud"), and advanced level ("Taking AWS Operations to the Next Level"). We also offer Self-paced Hands-on Labs for beginners through advanced users on topics that range from creating Amazon EC2 instances to launching and managing a web application with AWS CloudFormation. AWS technical experts will be standing by to assist with any questions. Usually $30 per lab, we are offering these labs for free at The Loft.
  • Technical Presentations. AWS Solution Architects, Product Managers, and Evangelists will deliver some of the highest-rated and best-attended sessions from recent AWS events on topics like Introduction to AWS, Mobile & Gaming, Databases, Big Data, Compute & Networking, Architecture, Operations, and Security. Check out the full list of sessions.
  • Special Events. We have many special events happening at The Loft throughout the month, including a meet and greet with Amazon’s CTO, Werner Vogels, an AWS Hack Night, and a special AWS half-day event “Building Your Game in the Cloud.” We also have 2-3 networking happy hours each week with successful startup customers such as Coin, Flipboard, and more. Space is limited so RSVP here.
