Amazon VPC NAT Gateways now support Amazon CloudWatch Monitoring and Resource Tagging

Posted on: Sep 7, 2017

You can now monitor bytes, packets, active connections and several other metrics for NAT Gateways via CloudWatch console and AWS CLI. You can setup CloudWatch Alarms to notify you of crossing thresholds. All metrics are provided with a 1 min frequency. For more information about the metrics, see  Monitoring Your NAT Gateway with Amazon CloudWatch.

With Tagging support, you can add Key and Value metadata to search, filter and organize your NAT Gateways. You can breakdown the cost per individual NAT gateway or a group using cost explorer and tagging. Tagging is available through the VPC NAT Gateway console and AWS CLI. For more information about tagging, see Tagging a NAT Gateway.
