Starting today, Amazon Inspector is available to customers in the US East (Ohio) region. With the addition of this region, Inspector is available in US East (Northern Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (Northern California), US West (Oregon), EU (Frankfurt), EU (Ireland), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Sydney), and Asia Pacific (Tokyo).
Amazon Inspector is an on-demand security assessment service that helps AWS customers validate the security configurations of the applications and operating systems deployed in their Amazon EC2 environments. Inspector gives customers the flexibility to check EC2 instances for vulnerabilities and evaluate their instance configurations against security benchmarks any time they need. Inspector offers rules packages that allow customers to choose the type of security assessment they wish to run and provides a detailed evaluation of the findings along with recommendations to improve the security of their instances.
