Posted on: Jun 3, 2019

Amazon Elasticsearch Service now supports open source Elasticsearch 6.7 and Kibana 6.7. The new version of Elasticsearch and Kibana offers several new features and improvements, including BKD backed geo-shapes datatype, median absolute deviation aggregation, and support for nested fields in composite aggregations

You can now create new domains running Elasticsearch 6.7 and also easily upgrade existing 5.6 and 6.x domains with no downtime using in-place version upgrades.

The new version of Elasticsearch and Kibana on Amazon Elasticsearch Service are available across 20 regions globally: US East (N. Virginia, Ohio), US West (Oregon, N. California), AWS GovCloud (US-Gov-East, US-Gov-West), Canada (Central), South America (Sao Paulo), EU (Ireland, London, Frankfurt, Paris, Stockholm), Asia Pacific (Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo, Seoul, Mumbai), and China (Beijing – operated by Sinnet, Ningxia – operated by NWCD).
